DescriptionThe whole story▼
Endurance racing asks more of a motorcycle than any sprint: hours of running, rider changes and pit stops in which every second is counted. Amateur endurance events, from club six-hour races to longer team formats, attract plenty of superbikes, and an Aprilia RSV4 1100 is an obvious candidate for them. In the pit lane, refuelling is the job that decides how long a stop lasts. That is where Accossato's FC102 comes in, a quick-release cap for the RSV4 1100 of 2019 to 2026, machined from aluminium and closed by a quick-closing pawl.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Aprilia RSV4 1100, 2019 to 2026
- Racing Factory, Euro 5 and Euro 5+ versions on Accossato's list
- Made entirely of CNC-machined aluminium
- Quick-closing pawl designed for opening and closing quickly
- Pin colour to order: blue, green, black, red, silver or gold
- Pawl sold separately as a replacement part
- No German ABE documented; for closed circuits
Construction and Material Quality
The FC102 is made entirely from CNC-machined aluminium, which, according to Accossato, gives it robustness and durability. Its design is new. The quick-closing pawl is the heart of it: it lets the crew open the RSV4 1100's tank quickly and close it again just as fast, which counts when a stop is timed. Six colours are on offer for that pawl, and it is also sold separately as a spare in case it gets damaged.
When the Pit Board Says Fuel
A well-rehearsed refuelling stop is choreography. The rider comes in on the pit limiter and stops on the marked spot with the engine off, since club regulations generally forbid refuelling with it running. One crew member holds the bike, another opens the tank, a third stands ready with the extinguisher. The fuel goes in, the cap is closed, somebody confirms by eye that it is shut, and the next rider leaves. The filler cap sits at the centre of that sequence, and a fiddly one costs time. The FC102 opens with its pawl and closes again quickly, which is exactly the job Accossato designed it for. Teams should still rehearse the stop before the race, agree who checks the cap and keep a replacement pawl in the pit box, because a pawl damaged by a clumsy fuel can is a poor reason to lose laps.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's application list gives three versions: the RSV4 1100 Racing Factory with ABS from 2019 to 2021, the RSV4 1100 Euro 5 from 2021 to 2026 and the Euro 5+ model of 2025. The FC102 takes the place of the original filler cap on all of them. Inter-Pace lists the same cap for the RSV4 RR and the Tuono V4 1100 Factory too. Confirm your model year and version on Accossato's list before you order.
Road Approval
No German ABE and no parts certificate are documented for the FC102; it is a part for the track. On a road-registered RSV4 1100 the standard key-operated cap should remain in place.
Scope of Delivery
