DescriptionThe whole story▼
The rear disc of an enduro bike lives dangerously. It sits low beside the swingarm, close to every rock step and fallen trunk that the Husqvarna FE 350 is asked to climb over. Accossato makes the DK018 as a replacement rear disc for the FE 350 from 2014 to 2024. It is a fixed disc in one piece, steel according to the supplier, with an outside diameter of 220 mm, a 110 mm bore and a thickness of 4 mm, and it takes the place of the original.
Key Features
- Fixed rear brake disc for the Husqvarna FE 350, 2014 to 2024
- One piece, steel-made according to the supplier
- 220 mm and 110 mm diameters, 4 mm thickness
- Minimum thickness printed on the disc
- Accossato states it can replace the original equipment disc
- Accossato recommends renewal at thirty to forty thousand kilometres, or earlier when worn
- No German ABE on record; for off-road competition
Construction and Material Quality
The DK018 is a solid, one-piece disc without separate carrier or rivets, and Accossato calls it steel-made. The company, founded in Moncalieri near Turin in 1969, says its brake discs draw on racing in Superbike, Moto2 and Moto3, with design and raw material chosen for strong, consistent stopping and with close attention to tolerances. Printed on the disc is the minimum working thickness; Accossato warns that a disc worn beyond it can break under extreme stress.
Logs, Rocks and a Bent Rear Disc
On a hard enduro loop the FE 350 regularly lands its rear wheel on a log or drags it along a rock step. Most of the time nothing happens. Now and then the disc takes the knock and bends slightly. The signs are easy to miss at first: a pedal that pulses at walking pace, a faint rhythmic rubbing when you push the bike, pads that wear more on one side than the other. Put the bike on its stand, spin the rear wheel and watch the gap between disc and caliper. If the disc wobbles, it has to be replaced; hammering it straight is no repair for a part that must cope with heat and load. While the wheel is out, look at the hub as well, because a bent disc can also mean the wheel itself took a hard hit.
Fitment and Compatibility
In Accossato's list the DK018 covers the FE 350 from 2014 to 2024 and is interchangeable with the stock rear disc. The front wheel of the same bike takes the DK017 (2014 to 2023), and for the earliest FE 350 Accossato adds the DK259, listed for 2013 to 2015.
Road Approval
This disc has no German ABE, and no type approval is documented. It is intended for racing and for riding away from public roads.
Scope of Delivery
You receive one DK018 rear disc; pads, screws and tools are not part of it.
