DescriptionThe whole story▼
Accossato describes EV2 racing as a compound for competition, and that is how the article should be read. On the front of a Multistrada 1260 Enduro it belongs to the small group of owners who take a big adventure machine onto a closed circuit, or to an organised event, and ride it as hard as the tyres allow. AGPA177EV2 is the AGPA177 front pad pressed in that material, listed for the Enduro built in 2019, 2020 and 2021.
Key Features
- Front pads for the Ducati Multistrada 1260 Enduro, 2019 to 2021
- AGPA177EV2 joins the AGPA177 plate to Accossato's EV2 racing material
- Placed by the maker at the competition end of the pad programme
- For closed courses and organised events, not for the daily commute
- The front of this Enduro has a caliper on each side: order twice
- A box contains two pads, the set for one of those calipers
- ST, EV1 and ZXC cover the same plate for other kinds of riding
- No German ABE on record; a competition part
Construction and Material Quality
The maker is brief about this one, calling it a racing compound and leaving it there. Read that as a material chosen by riders whose lever work is counted in laps rather than in junctions, where the same corner returns every ninety seconds and the pads never fully cool. What Accossato claims across its pad programme, namely material that lasts, heat kept within limits so the lever holds its position, and a firm result at the disc, is tested hardest in exactly this setting. The plate stays the unchanged AGPA177, so moving between materials moves the friction layer alone.
When the Lever Never Gets a Rest
A session at a circuit rearranges what a front brake is asked to do. On the road it works in short bursts with long recoveries between them; on a closed course the recovery disappears. The straight ends, the lever is pulled hard, the bike is turned in, and two corners later the whole sequence returns. Nobody should pretend a tall Enduro is a race bike, yet the ones taken to track evenings are ridden with real commitment, and the front pads are the part that notices first.
That kind of use asks for a routine. Walk round the bike between sessions and look at what is left rather than guessing from last time. Keep an eye on the fluid, which works as hard as everything else does. Bed a new set in before the first fast lap instead of during it. And when the Multistrada 1260 Enduro goes back on the trailer, let it stand until the discs are cold before anything is strapped tight against them.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato's listing puts the AGPA177 at the front of the Multistrada 1260 Enduro for 2019 to 2021, which is the whole life of the model. Two calipers means two boxes for a complete change, whichever material you settle on. The rear of the same bike is served by the AGPA93 over those same years, and the DKS053 is the disc offered for it. An Enduro first registered before 2019 is a different machine in this catalogue and this entry does not reach it.
Road Approval
We hold no ABE for the AGPA177EV2 and no German test documentation. Given what the compound is for, that is consistent: a competition pad, intended for closed courses.
Scope of Delivery
One box, two AGPA177 pads in the EV2 racing material, enough for a single caliper. Both front calipers on the Multistrada 1260 Enduro want the same, so count in pairs.
