DescriptionThe whole story

A naked bike has nothing behind the rider, so a hard stop puts the whole GT300R on the front tyre. The reference is the N004 - 55.3 mm of friction height over 75.0 mm of length, on the Nissin fitment the GT300R uses. EX Race is the softer of ZCOO's two ceramic mixtures and the one that protects a GT300R rotor.

Key Features

  • Consistent friction from the first lap to the wear limit, so the braking marker set on a cold GT300R still means the same thing when it is hot
  • A pad geometry drawn for this caliper family rather than shared across three of them, which is why the N004 fills its window
  • Suitable for trackday use on the GT300R without a change of pad before the session
  • Selected by ZCOO for the Hyosung GT300R out of the sixteen shapes in the 2026 programme
  • No bedding-in ritual: the N004 reaches its working friction level within the first few stops
  • Wear stays even across the 75.0 mm of friction face rather than concentrating at the leading edge

Construction and Material Quality

The N004 is a racing part in the way it is made, not only in the way it is sold. A Nissin caliper spreads under peak line pressure, and a plate that yields with it moves the contact patch onto the pad's edges. The effect is a N004 that presents the same geometry to the disc near the wear limit as it did new.

Performance and Feel

EX Race is the control-oriented of ZCOO's two ceramic compounds, and on the Hyosung GT300R that is the point. The harder EXC Endurance mixture bit sooner and lasted longer, but asked considerably more of a GT300R disc than the N004 in EX Race does. With no fairing to lean into, the GT300R rider needs the N004 to be predictable above all.

Fitment and Compatibility

For the Hyosung GT300R, 2016 to 2017, on the Nissin fitment. Before ordering, check that your caliper takes a pad of 75.0 mm length and 55.3 mm height. The N004 is a front pad only. The same N004 shape covers 12 further machines in the 2026 catalogue.

Road Approval

No ECE R90 type approval is documented for this pad. It appears neither in ZCOO's own catalogue nor on the European distributor's site, and no approval number is printed on the packaging data available to us. ZCOO itself describes the compound as suited to competition machines and road machines alike, but that is a description of the mixture, not a type approval. Until the distributor confirms an approval in writing, treat this as a track and competition part: in Germany a replacement brake pad without ECE R90 approval may not be fitted to a motorcycle used on public roads. Ask us before ordering if you need this clarified for your machine.
