Sprint Filter P08 Air Filter for Road & Track – Aprilia Tuono (2021–2026) PM176S

Two promises come with PM176S, and they are not the same promise. Sprint Filter warrants the element for two years from the date of purchase, and separately designs it to last as long as the motorcycle does. The first is an undertaking about manufacture; the second is an intention about wear. Read together they describe a part meant to leave the Tuono's airbox only when the bike does, backed for the period in which a manufacturing fault would show.

What the warranty covers and what it does not

Two years is about defects: a seam that opens, a frame that will not seat, cloth that arrives wrong. It is not a service life, and reading it as one is the usual mistake. Wear on a dry polyester element is not a countdown in the first place — the cloth loads, gets blown through, and goes back to work, which is why no packaging tells you when to throw it away. The owner's job is to look rather than to count, and nothing about that job changes in the twenty-fifth month.

Designed out to the end of the bike

The other half is a design target rather than a guarantee, and it deserves saying plainly. Sprint Filter specifies PM176S for the life of the machine, which means the element stops being a consumable in the accounting sense: not scheduled, not stocked, not bought twice. On a naked 660 likely to pass through several owners that has a quiet practical value, because the intake consumable is no longer something a later owner must source for a model that may by then be out of production. What it does not do is add output. A panel placed in an airbox nobody has modified leaves a type-approved twin exactly as strong as it was.

Care and cleaning

The routine is short and it is dry throughout. Compressed air, held at the clean side and drawn evenly across the cloth, drives the collected dirt back out the way it entered, and most of the time that is the whole service. When the surface stays dark afterwards, lukewarm water with a small quantity of mild washing-up liquid takes the rest; rinse until the water carries nothing away with it. Drying then happens in room air and only there, since a radiator, a heat gun or a flame will ruin polyester, and the element returns to the airbox dry and untreated.
