DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Puig Raptor windscreen brings a considered blend of classic café racer character and modern aerodynamic engineering to the Triumph Thruxton 1200. Crafted from high-resistance polycarbonate and finished with a rounded profile that honours the Thruxton's heritage silhouette, this screen is as much a style statement as it is a functional upgrade — delivering genuine wind management without compromising the naked, purposeful look of the bike.
Key Features
- High-resistance thermoplastic polymer construction offers superior impact resilience and long-term durability through everyday riding and touring conditions.
- Rounded profile finish complements the Thruxton 1200's classic round headlight and flowing bodywork, enhancing aesthetics while improving rider safety at the edges.
- Aerodynamic geometry improves airflow and stability at speed, reducing rider fatigue on longer stretches without the bulk of a full touring screen.
- UV-resistant material provides effective protection against ultraviolet solar rays, maintaining optical clarity and colour integrity over years of use.
- Certified to ABE KBA 38188 CS3 and DOT 1312 homologation standards, and compliant with the quality requirements of the German TÜV certification — road-legal confidence included.
- Available in a range of finishes — red, blue, black, transparent, smoked and dark smoked — to suit the Thruxton 1200's various colour schemes and personal tastes.
Design, Finish and Heritage
Puig designed the Raptor screen with round-headlight motorcycles firmly in mind, and the result is a screen that sits as though it belongs. On the Thruxton 1200, a machine that already draws from decades of British twin-cylinder racing tradition, the Raptor's clean lines and well-proportioned rake echo the original flyscreen aesthetic without resorting to pastiche. The rounded edge treatment is not merely cosmetic — it softens any incidental contact risk at the perimeter and gives the screen a quality, coach-built appearance from every angle.
Puig offers the Raptor in six distinct finishes, meaning riders can choose between the understated elegance of dark smoked, the track-ready aggression of solid black, or the period-correct transparency of a clear screen. Each finish is applied with the same UV-resistant treatment, so there is no trade-off between looks and longevity.
Installation
Fitting the Raptor to the Thruxton 1200 is a straightforward task requiring no specialist tools. Puig supplies a clear, illustrated instruction booklet that guides the process from start to finish, with the assembly typically completed in around two minutes. Where model-specific mounting geometry requires it, optional adapter kits are available — please verify compatibility and review the ABE documentation carefully before ordering to confirm suitability for your specific machine and registration.
