DescriptionThe whole story▼
The I2M Chrome Plus2 is the instrument the Yamaha YZF-R3 was always capable of supporting — a full racing dashboard, GPS lap timer, data logger, video input and lambda controller unified in one purposefully engineered cockpit unit. Where the stock display shows numbers, the Chrome Plus2 builds a picture of how and where you are getting faster, session by session.
Key Features
- 5-inch colour graphic display at 800 x 480 resolution — vivid and legible in direct sunlight on track
- 10 Hz GPS for trajectory mapping and precise speed measurement across every sector
- 11 freely configurable high-brightness RGB LEDs for shift lights, alarms and custom threshold alerts
- 16 GB internal storage logging up to 500 laps per circuit across 20 pre-installed tracks
- 128 additional CAN-Bus acquisition channels at up to 500 Hz per channel for deep powertrain analysis
- Integrated lambda controller, video input, Bluetooth BLE and Wi-Fi for a fully connected race setup
A Racing Instrument Shaped by the R3's Character
The Yamaha YZF-R3 rewards precision, repeatable lines and disciplined throttle work — the very qualities that data analysis reinforces. The Chrome Plus2 Dashboard transforms the R3 cockpit from a functional instrument cluster into a structured development tool. Lap times, split values, sector comparisons and session data are presented clearly on the large 5-inch panel, letting a rider understand not just how fast they went but exactly where time was gained or lost.
For junior racing programmes, track day regulars and club competitors, this level of feedback is the difference between chasing lap times and genuinely understanding them. The four configurable split points per circuit let you isolate individual corners or sections and measure consistency over an entire session.
Chrome Plus2 versus Chrome Lite
The Chrome Plus2 is I2M's expanded-capability platform, aimed at riders who need more connectivity, greater data depth and room to grow their setup over time. Compared with the Chrome Lite, it adds:
- Extended CAN-Bus evaluation with significantly more channels and higher sample rates
- Bluetooth BLE for peripheral device pairing
- Wi-Fi for wireless data transfer to a laptop or tablet in the pit lane
- 16 GB internal storage for extended, multi-session logging
- Configurable RGB alarm LEDs with flexible threshold programming
- Video input for camera integration and synchronised overlay data
- Integrated lambda controller for air-fuel ratio monitoring
- Fully customisable screen pages for both rider and mechanic views
Display Clarity and Connectivity
The 800 x 480 pixel panel is large enough to carry multiple data fields simultaneously without cluttering the view, and bright enough to remain readable under the harshest midday sun on a white-lined circuit. The 11 RGB LEDs above the display add an at-a-glance layer of communication — configurable for shift lights, engine temperature warnings or any parameter you choose to map — so critical information reaches the rider without demanding a second glance at the screen.
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth BLE mean the Chrome Plus2 does not isolate you from your data between sessions. Transfer lap files to analysis software wirelessly, connect additional sensors via Bluetooth, and review sector breakdowns before you roll back onto the circuit.
Who the Chrome Plus2 is Built For
This dashboard is the right choice if you want to:
- Replace the standard R3 instrument cluster with a full-capability racing dashboard and lap timer
- Log and compare sessions with structured sector-by-sector analysis
- Connect a camera for synchronised video and data overlays
- Monitor lambda values and extended CAN-Bus channels from the R3's ECU
- Build a scalable data platform that grows with your level of competition
