DescriptionThe whole story▼

Not every owner of a Husqvarna FC 450 wants another adjustable part to think about on a bike that already asks for more attention than a smaller machine, and some simply trust the factory's own method of setting chain tension rather than adding a screw to the equation. Accossato's RTM1 gives the FC 450 built in 2014 and 2015 a fresh pair of rear axle blocks that follow that stock method exactly, with nothing built into the block beyond what the bike came with.

Key Features

  • Rear axle blocks for the Husqvarna FC 450, 2014 to 2015
  • Accossato code RTM1, one pair, left and right
  • Chain tension set the stock way, with no built-in adjusting screw
  • Orange, black or silver
  • Also listed for the FC 250, the FC 350 and a wide run of other Husqvarna and KTM off-road models
  • Accossato's RCM1 covers the same bike with an adjusting screw built in, for riders who prefer that method
  • No German ABE on file; built for off-road and competition use

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato builds the RTM1 to occupy exactly the spot the original blocks fill at the swingarm ends, leaving the way tension gets set entirely alone. Finish is a choice between orange, black and silver, orange being the shade that sits closest to how the FC 450 leaves the factory. Given how much torque this engine puts through the rear wheel, a block that has started to round off at the edges is worth swapping out sooner rather than waiting for the next scheduled service.

Trusting the Factory Method

A 450-class four-stroke is not a bike most owners want to experiment on, and that same caution often extends to how the chain gets adjusted: rather than adding a feature that was never part of the original design, some riders would simply rather trust the method the bike was engineered around from the start. Blocks built to the stock pattern ask nothing extra of the rider beyond following the handbook, which suits anyone who already has a routine that works and sees no reason to complicate it on a bike that rewards consistency more than most. The trade-off is the usual one: no quick trailside screw to turn, but also nothing extra to seize up or wear out beyond the block itself. For an owner who has set up every other Husqvarna this way for years, there is little reason to change habits just because the engine is bigger.

Fitment and Compatibility

Accossato's own application list limits the RTM1 to the FC 450 built in 2014 and 2015, matching the window covered by the screw-equipped version for the same bike. A long run of other Husqvarna and KTM off-road models built on this swingarm, among them the FC 250 and the FC 350, take the identical pair across those same two seasons. Riders who would rather have a built-in adjusting screw can fit the RCM1 in this exact spot instead.

Road Approval

Accossato lists no German ABE for the RTM1, so the part is intended for off-road and competition use rather than for use on public roads.
