DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Vulcan S brought a cruiser's low seat and relaxed stance to Kawasaki's 650 parallel twin, and since 2015 it has been a familiar choice for riders who want a manageable bike with a long, low silhouette. Like most cruisers, it spends its stops leaning on the side stand, and that affects how its tank takes fuel. For the Vulcan S of 2015 to 2025, Accossato lists the FC113, a quick-release fuel tank cap milled from aluminium, with a pawl whose pin can be ordered in six colours.
Key Features
- Quick-release fuel tank cap for the Kawasaki Vulcan S, 2015 to 2025
- Accossato entries: Vulcan S 650 with ABS 2015 to 2018, Vulcan S 650 2015 to 2025
- Entirely CNC-machined aluminium
- Robust and durable according to Accossato; new design
- Quick-closing pawl, pin in blue, green, black, red, silver or gold
- Pawl available separately
- No German ABE documented; for closed courses and the track
Construction and Material Quality
The FC113 is all aluminium, milled on CNC machines, and Accossato describes it as robust and durable. It is a new design with clean lines of its own, and a quick-closing pawl gets you into the Vulcan S's tank quickly, then closes the filler again with a flick. Six pin colours are offered for that pawl, so it can echo a detail elsewhere on the bike or stand apart from it. A replacement pawl is sold separately in case the original is damaged.
Refuelling on the Side Stand
On its side stand the Vulcan S leans to the left, and so does its tank. The filler is then no longer at the highest point, which means fuel reaches the neck sooner than you expect and can overflow while the tank is still some way from full. Whenever you can, stand the bike upright to refuel: a helper holding it level, or a scissor lift under the frame, makes a real difference. If it has to be done on the side stand, stop well short of the neck, pour slowly and give the fuel a moment to settle before adding more. Keep a cloth under the filler, because a drop running down the tank can find its way to the engine below. Before the FC113 is closed, check that no fuel has collected in the recess around the opening; close the pawl, and look again once the bike is upright. On a closed-course training day these few seconds are quickly done, and the tank stays clean.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato has two entries for this bike: the Vulcan S 650 with ABS from 2015 to 2018, and the Vulcan S 650 from 2015 to 2025. In our garage the product is also linked to the Special Edition. The same cap appears with us under the Vulcan S Cafe and the Versys 650, which draws on the same parallel-twin family. Before ordering, set your bike's details against Accossato's list.
Road Approval
No German ABE or parts certificate has been documented for the FC113, so we sell it for track use and closed-course events. On the road the Vulcan S keeps its original cap, which normally locks with the ignition key.
Scope of Delivery
One Accossato FC113 quick-release fuel tank cap with the pin colour you have chosen; the pawl is also sold on its own.
