DescriptionThe whole story▼
A low seat changes how you tackle difficult ground. On the Beta Xtrainer 300, which sits lower than Beta's RR models, a rider can put a foot down in a boulder field and actually reach the rock, and that makes walking-pace sections far less intimidating. It also means spending a lot of time with one foot down and the front brake held while you work out the next line. Accossato's B8206 fits the front brake of the Xtrainer 300 from 2015 to 2022: a three-finger lever machined from solid Ergal 7075, with a blade that can fold forward if the bike topples.
Key Features
- Folding front brake lever for the Beta Xtrainer 300, 2015 to 2022
- Mounts on the original front brake master cylinder
- Hinged blade that can fold forward if the bike tips over
- Shorter blade for three fingers
- Milled from solid Ergal 7075 in Italy
- Black, blue, gold or red blade; base in a dark finish
- No German ABE on record; for off-road use
Construction and Material Quality
Starting from solid Ergal 7075, Accossato mills the B8206 on CNC machines in Italy, relying on the alloy's high strength to make a lever that is also light and reliable. The part is built in two pieces. Its base, in a dark finish, sits on the master cylinder pivot; the blade, in the colour you choose, connects to it through a folding joint and is the shorter pattern Accossato uses on the brake side, with room for three fingers.
Paddling Through the Boulders
Boulder fields are ridden slowly. The front wheel is placed onto a rock and held there with the brake while the rider shifts weight, then released as the clutch sends the rear wheel up behind it. In between, riders dab their feet, stop to look, and sometimes hold the bike on the front brake while a friend points out a way through. The lever is under the fingers almost the whole time, and a steady three-finger grip matters when the front wheel is balanced on a rounded stone.
The falls come at walking pace, but on rock. A dabbed boot slips off a boulder, the Xtrainer 300 leans past the point of recovery and goes over, and if it goes right, the brake lever meets stone. At that speed the blow is small, but the rock is hard and the bike's weight sits on top of it. The joint on the B8206 gives the blade a way to fold forward, improving its chances of surviving the tip-over. It is a probability, not a guarantee; still, a boulder field is rarely a place where you would choose to be on a Beta Xtrainer 300 without a front brake.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the B8206 for the Beta Xtrainer 300 from 2015 to 2022, starting with the Xtrainer's first model year. For the clutch side of the same bike the folding C7283 is listed across the same period. Black, blue and red are offered on both levers; gold remains a brake colour and orange a clutch colour.
Road Approval
The B8206 has no German ABE. A registered Xtrainer 300 with this lever is not approved for public roads; it is for off-road riding and competition.
Scope of Delivery
