DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Superveloce 800 looks back to the racing machines of the past, with a round headlight set into a full fairing, yet underneath it is MV Agusta's three-cylinder F3 800. The Serie Oro edition launched the model in 2020. As on most fully faired sports bikes with clip-ons, the steering lock is limited, and at full lock the levers can come close to the bodywork. The Accossato ESM048 is a CNC-machined clutch lever for the Superveloce 800 Serie Oro, adjustable in reach and made in three lengths, which makes it worth a quick clearance check after fitting.
Key Features
- Clutch lever for the MV Agusta Superveloce 800 Serie Oro, 2020
- Mounts at the original clutch mounting
- Adjustable distance between blade and grip
- Blade in black, blue, red, orange, gold, silver or green; hub always black
- Standard length approx. 138 mm; short and long in selected colours
- Machined from solid aluminium and anodised
- One-piece fixed blade
- Delivered in its own Accossato box
Construction and Material Quality
Anodising colours aluminium in a particular way. The dye sits inside a thin, translucent oxide layer that grows out of the metal itself, so the sheen of the machined aluminium underneath shows through, and a gold blade looks metallic rather than painted. Accossato first mills the ESM048 from a solid blank on CNC machines, then anodises the blade in the colour you order and the hub, with its pivot and reach adjuster, in black. The blade is fixed: no hinge, no folding tip, one rigid piece.
Full Lock Inside a Full Fairing
Clip-ons and a full fairing leave the bars less room to turn than on a naked bike, so tight manoeuvres on the Superveloce take a little planning: a three-point turn where a naked bike would make a U-turn, a wide approach to a parking space. At full lock, the clutch hand does its most delicate work, holding the friction point while the bike creeps round, and it is also where the lever comes nearest to the bodywork. After fitting the ESM048, turn the bars fully to each side with the engine off and check that the blade clears the fairing and the tank with room to spare, both released and pulled in. Repeat the check whenever you change the reach setting, and take particular care if you chose the long blade. Should the tip come close to the fairing on your bike, the short blade ends earlier and leaves more room. Ride only once the lever moves freely through its whole travel at every steering angle, so that the friction point is always there when you need it.
Fitment and Compatibility
The ESM048 is listed by Accossato for the Superveloce 800 Serie Oro in 2020, under the name Superveloce 800 Oro, and replaces the standard lever at the original clutch mounting. Our range has no matching Accossato brake lever for this edition, so the product covers the clutch side only.
Road Approval
This lever comes without a documented German ABE; for that reason we sell it for racetrack use.
