DescriptionThe whole story

The JP KS HO025 is the kill switch listed for the CBR1000RR Fireblade, model-specific down to the plate shape and the connector the loom expects.

Key Features

  • Honda CBR1000RR Fireblade (2008–2016)
  • Replaces the original ignition block, key and lock
  • Around 350 g off the top yoke
  • CNC-machined from solid Ergal
  • IP69K sealed push button
  • Plug-and-play on the motorcycle's own connector

The Later Generation

The 2017 revision brought electronics the earlier bikes never had and a different ignition arrangement, which is why two part numbers cover a motorcycle with one name.

Cut From Solid

Ergal machined rather than moulded, which is why the body survives the knocks a top yoke collects over a season of being wheeled about.

Model Specific

The mounting, the connector and the plate shape all follow the motorcycle. There is no universal version and fitting the wrong one is not a shortcut.

Vibration

A button on a yoke sees more of it than one on a handlebar. The body is machined and the switch is sealed for that reason.

Wiring Length

The connector sits where the block's did, so the loom does not need extending. That is part of what model-specific means here.

On a Machine With a Race Loom

A race harness may not carry the ignition connector at all. Those bikes have their own part numbers and the difference is not cosmetic.

Sealed Against a Pressure Washer

The IP69K rating is specifically about close-range hot water at pressure, which is precisely how a race bike gets cleaned on a Sunday evening.

The Honest Case

A well-made, sealed, model-specific switch that removes a lock a race bike has no use for and takes a little weight off the worst place to carry it.

No Adjustment

Nothing threads, nothing shims and nothing needs setting. It bolts into the holes the block used and works from the first press.

What Actually Leaves the Motorcycle

A steel lock barrel, its tumblers, a mounting bracket, a switch pack and the key. Three hundred and fifty grams by the manufacturer's figure, all of it sitting above the fork crown where a motorcycle is least willing to carry weight.
