DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Triumph Speed Triple 1050 R is the higher-specification version of the naked triple, and many owners keep theirs in a garage for dry weekend rides. For that kind of use, a rear brake that works straight away from cold and treats the disc kindly makes more sense than a pad designed for heat. Accossato lists the AGPA76 rear pad for the Speed Triple 1050 R, and this box holds it in the Organic (OR) compound. Our listing covers the model years 2012 to 2017.
Key Features
- Organic (OR) rear pads, article AGPA76OR
- For the Triumph Speed Triple 1050 R, 2012 to 2017 in our listing
- For dry weekend rides and relaxed road use
- Accossato cites lasting performance and reduced disc wear
- Two pads per box, one rear caliper
- Also available in Sintered
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato makes the AGPA76 in two compounds; OR is the organic one. The company says it offers lasting performance and limits disc wear. For a bike that covers modest distances each year, a rear disc that stays in good condition is worth having. The organic pad needs no heat to work, so it responds predictably from the moment the bike leaves the garage.
Weekend Rides from a Cold Garage
A bike that stands all week needs a little care before the first ride. Check the tyre pressures, give the brake lever and pedal a few squeezes, and ride the first few minutes gently. The organic rear pad on the Speed Triple 1050 R works well from cold, which suits that routine. Every few months, check pad thickness and fluid level, and look for moisture-related corrosion on the caliper if the garage is damp. Change the fluid according to the service schedule, even if the bike rarely gets wet.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the AGPA76 for the rear of the Triumph Speed Triple 1050 R. Its own entry names 2012 to 2018; our garage listing covers 2012 to 2017. One box covers the single rear caliper. Accossato also catalogues the DK132 disc for this model. The AGPA76 is available in Sintered as an alternative.
Road Approval
We have no ABE or road inspection document for this pad. It is supplied for track and competition use.
