DescriptionThe whole story▼
In summer city traffic, the clutch of a small cruiser works harder than most riders realise. Crawling along a queue in first gear with the lever half out, the plates slip against each other and turn the rider's caution into heat. The Rebel 300, light and easy in town, spends a lot of its life in exactly that kind of traffic. Accossato's ESH250 is a CNC-machined aluminium clutch lever for the Rebel 300 of 2017 to 2021, with an adjustable reach that makes a cleaner, more deliberate way of using the clutch easier on the hand.
Key Features
- Replacement clutch lever for the Honda CMX300 Rebel, 2017 to 2021
- Fits the original clutch mounting
- Adjustable reach
- Blade colours: black, blue, red, orange, gold, silver, green
- Black and red in standard length only; silver in standard or short
- Blue, gold, green and orange in all three lengths
- Machined aluminium, anodised, rigid blade
Construction and Material Quality
Every ESH250 starts as solid aluminium that Accossato machines to shape and then anodises. The hub, with the pivot and the reach adjuster, is always black, a sensible choice on a bike styled so largely in black. The blade carries the colour. Anodising grows the coloured layer out of the metal itself, so it does not sit on top like paint and does not chip at the edges. As a fixed lever, the ESH250 has no folding joint and no play along the blade.
Summer Queues and a Hot Clutch
A wet clutch is built to slip for a moment, not for minutes on end. Holding the friction point all the way along a slow queue heats the plates and the oil around them, and on a hot day the bite point can start to feel less precise. The better habit is to ride the queue in short, clean steps: let a gap open ahead, move into it with the clutch fully engaged in first gear, then pull the lever right in and roll to a stop. The slipping phase lasts a second or two instead of a minute, and the clutch stays cool. That way of riding needs a lever that is easy to pull all the way in, many times over. On the Rebel 300, set the ESH250 so the full pull comes without stretching, and check that the clutch frees completely at the end of the travel. The long blade, in blue, gold, green or orange, gives the lightest pull; the standard blade stays closest to the feel of the original.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists this clutch lever for the Rebel 300, which it names CMX 300, from 2017 to 2021, fitted at the original clutch mounting. The EDF025 brake lever covers the same Rebel 300 and the same years. If your bike was built outside that period, it is not covered by this listing.
Road Approval
A German ABE for the ESH250 is not documented, so this lever is sold for circuit use.
Scope of Delivery
