One hundred and seven decibels. That is the number Spark publishes for the Konix Evo on this motorcycle, and it is the reason this kit exists between the compliant Force silencers at 102 dB and the MotoGP and Grid-O cases above them.
Key Features
- 3/4 kit for the Yamaha R1 and R1M: titanium D.60 2-into-1 manifold plus Konix Evo silencer.
- 107 dB — Spark's figure for this silencer on the R1.
- All-titanium case: sleeve, perforated inner tube and inner end cap.
- Carbon end cap styled with a design studio in Maranello.
- Eliminates the catalytic converter, keeps the standard headers.
- Requires the SGATT844 footrest bracket, ordered separately.
The Number Between the Numbers
Spark's decibel scale for the R1 has three rungs, and the Konix Evo is the middle one. Force and Force Evo clear the 102 dB required by the French championship and the Endurance World Championship. MotoGP and Grid-O sit above the limit entirely. The Konix Evo is quoted at 107 dB.
That figure is not arbitrary: 107 dB is the ceiling European Stock 1000 has imposed, and Spark sizes the Konix family's volume to it. So the practical question is not whether this silencer is loud but which rulebook your circuit uses. Under 102 it is too much; under 107 it is exactly right.
Titanium Down to the Inner End Cap
Spark builds the Konix Evo entirely in titanium — not only the outer sleeve, but the perforated inner tube and the inner end cap as well. On most silencers those internal parts are stainless, because nobody sees them; making them titanium is a weight decision taken where it does not show.
What does show is the carbon end cap, designed with a style centre in Maranello. It is the detail that separates the Konix Evo from Spark's earlier Konix, and the reason this case reads as finished rather than functional.
The dB Killer Question
Spark's stated aim for this range is to hit the noise limits without a dB killer, and at 107 dB the Konix Evo does that for a 107 dB circuit with nothing plugged into it. A dB killer can still be added if you need to go lower — Spark offers the G9999 insert for the Konix Evo and Force Evo cases — but it is an option here rather than a requirement.
That distinction matters at scrutineering. A silencer that measures inside the limit empty gives you one number, whatever the marshal asks you to remove.
One Extra Part
Spark notes that this kit needs the SGATT844 footrest bracket, which is not in the box. Order it alongside the exhaust — the kit cannot be mounted as intended without it, and finding out on the workbench costs a weekend.
Fitment & Compatibility
Yamaha R1 and R1M, 2015 through 2025, and the MT-10 and MT-10 SP, 2016 through 2026 — Spark lists this part for both. The titanium manifold on its own is GYA8858. The same manifold with the Force Evo is GYA8859T, which also requires SGATT844; with the Force it is GYA8882T and needs no extra bracket.
Road Approval
None. The catalytic converter is removed and no EC certificate exists for the kit. Closed circuits with a 107 dB limit or higher.
