DescriptionThe whole story▼
A throttle housing with the right-hand switch block built into it, for the first-generation Brutale 800. The JP CO MV002 replaces both parts as one machined Ergal body.
Key Features
- MV Agusta Brutale 800 (2012–2015)
- Integrated right-hand switch block
- Machined from a single block of Ergal 7075
- Black anodised
- Replaces housing and switch together
- Plug-and-play on the original connector
Two Components, One Part Number
On this generation MV built the right-hand controls into the throttle assembly rather than clamping them separately to the bar. It is compact packaging and awkward servicing, because a single tired contact condemns the whole component and the whole component is not a cheap item from a dealer.
The Original Brutale 800
The 2012 to 2015 bike is the first of the 798 cc triples, before MV revised the range with the RR, the SCS and the long list of special editions that followed. It is the version that established the model and the one most likely now to need cockpit parts.
A Backwards Crankshaft
MV turns the crank against the direction of the wheels, cancelling part of their gyroscopic effect. The Brutale changes direction faster than its numbers suggest, and riders arriving from Japanese machinery describe the difference as immediate and initially unsettling.
Where the Switch Wears
Starter, kill switch and mode selection, worked in gloves in every kind of weather on a bike with no fairing to shelter them. Nothing breaks; the buttons simply lose their definition after enough seasons, and the rider adapts without registering it.
Machined, Not Cast
The standard assembly is a casting with a moulded cover clipped over it. Cutting the replacement from a single billet of Ergal 7075 removes the joint entirely, which matters both for the throttle tube's bore and for keeping water away from the contacts.
Black Anodised
One finish, converted into the surface rather than laid on top. Against the Brutale's exposed trellis frame and dark plastics it belongs, and a knock dulls it instead of exposing bright aluminium underneath.
