DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Öhlins-equipped Z900RS SE takes the JP PS KA044 as its left-hand switch, machined from Ergal 7075 in black or titanium.
Key Features
- Kawasaki Z900RS SE (2021–2025)
- Full street control set
- Black or titanium anodising
- CNC-milled Ergal 7075
- Sealed switch elements
- Plug-and-play on the original connector
Gold and Black
The SE wears a paint scheme that quotes Kawasaki's 1970s racing colours rather than its road bikes, and backs it with an Öhlins rear shock and Brembo front brakes. It is the version for riders who want the retro appearance and a chassis that can be used properly.
Specification Visible From the Saddle
From the rider's seat the Öhlins reservoir and the Brembo lettering are not visible; the switchgear is. On a bike where the owner has paid for the better components, the moulded plastic control is the part that undercuts the impression every time they look down.
The Same Interface as the Z900
Kawasaki uses one left-hand connector across the Z900, the RS, this SE and the 2019 ZX-6R. One part number therefore covers four quite different motorcycles, which is convenient and slightly surprising given how differently they present themselves.
Sealed Construction
Milled from one block with sealed switch elements. No moulded seam, no clipped joint, and nothing that develops play under the inline four's vibration over a decade.
Choosing the Finish
Against gold suspension and a black tank, titanium reads as deliberate and black disappears. Both are anodised through the surface rather than painted on top of it.
Reversible
The standard cluster unbolts and can be refitted before a sale. Retro machines change hands with their originality scrutinised, and keeping the factory part is worth the shelf space.
One Interface, Four Motorcycles
The same left-hand connector serves the Z900, the Z900RS, this SE and the 2019 ZX-6R. It is worth knowing when searching for parts, because a listing naming only one of them will very often fit the others.
