The JP CJP 012B is the programmable half of JetPrime's fuel range for the RS 660, written over USB with their own software and reversible in a minute.

A Parallel Twin With a V4's Bore
The 659 cc twin shares its cylinder dimensions with one bank of the RSV4, which is why it revs like a small four rather than like a typical parallel twin.
Interpolation Between Cells
The unit does not jump from one value to the next. It blends between neighbouring cells, which is why a smooth map produces a smooth engine and a spiky one does not.
Cell by Cell
Serious mapping means holding the engine at one load and one speed, reading the mixture and correcting that cell. It is slow, methodical work and there is no shortcut.
The Cells That Matter
Cruise, small openings and the first part of the throttle. Most riding happens there and most of the improvement anybody feels comes from getting those right.
Reading a Wideband
The display shows the mixture in real time. Holding a steady load and watching the number is the entire technique, and it is considerably duller than it sounds.
Measure or Guess
There is no third option. A wideband sensor turns mapping into engineering; without one it is an expensive way to develop opinions about an engine.
Heat Under the Seat
The unit lives where an engine has been working. It is built for that; pressing it against a rail that carries exhaust heat is still worth avoiding.
Naming Files Properly
Motorcycle, exhaust, fuel and date. Six months and three exhausts later, a folder of files called map1 through map9 is worthless.
Where Owners Give Up
Not at the fitting and not at the software. It is the discipline of repeatable measurement that defeats people, because a map built on inconsistent readings is worse than no map at all.
