DescriptionThe whole story▼
The 660 platform is light enough that the ABS hardware is a real share of what a rider can remove.
Key Features
- Covers Tuono 660, Tuono 660 Factory, Tuareg 660 and Tuareg 660 Rally, 2021–2026
- Simulates the ABS module electronically
- No warning light after the modulator is removed
- Speed sensors keep working
- Plug-and-play, nothing cut or spliced
- Reversible before the bike returns to the road
Where the Modulator Sits on a 660
Aprilia packages the unit high and forward, behind the radiator and ahead of the airbox. Removing it takes mass off the part of the motorcycle that resists a change of direction most, which is why lightweight-class competitors look at it before they look at anything cosmetic.
Three Systems Read the Same Sensors
Wheel speed feeds the ABS, but it also feeds the traction control, the wheelie control and the gear indicator. Cut the modulator out without an answer for its circuit and those go with it. This part keeps the sensor signal available to everything downstream.
A Bike That Loses Its Registration
Once the modulator is off, the motorcycle no longer meets the EU requirement for road use. That is worth understanding as a decision rather than discovering afterwards — and it is why the standard hardware belongs in a labelled box rather than a bin.
Fitment
- Aprilia Tuono 660 (2021–2026)
- Aprilia Tuono 660 Factory (2021–2026)
- Aprilia Tuareg 660 (2021–2026)
- Aprilia Tuareg 660 Rally (2025–2026)
Road Approval
None. ABS is mandatory equipment for road use in the EU and removing it ends the motorcycle's road registration. Closed-circuit and race use only.
