A radiator only cools what actually passes through its core. Air that finds a way around the edges does nothing, and on a race bike with cut-down bodywork there are more ways around than there were on the standard machine. CY20072 is the carbon shroud that closes those paths on the R9.

Why Shrouding Beats a Bigger Radiator
The instinct when a bike runs hot on track is to fit a larger core. Sealing the existing one is the cheaper move and often the more effective, because a radiator that leaks half its frontal airflow around the sides is working at a fraction of the area it was designed around. Sealing costs nothing in weight or frontal area, and it also makes the cooling behave predictably: temperatures that track speed rather than wandering with how the bodywork happens to be sitting that day.
Check It After the First Session
Shrouds work by contact, so the useful check is whether they still are in contact. Look for daylight between the shroud and the radiator side tanks after the first heat cycle, and again after any front-end knock. A shroud that has moved a few millimetres has stopped doing its job even though it still looks fitted.
