DescriptionThe whole story▼
A Multistrada 1260 S D-Air usually changes hands as a well-equipped, carefully kept touring bike, and the next owner will want to know how carefully. The questions come quickly: when was the last service, which fluids were renewed, is the airbag system in working order, what has been changed from standard? Owners who can answer with a folder of dated receipts tend to sell more easily. For the front brake reservoir of the 1260 S D-Air from 2018 to 2020, Accossato lists the TS003, CNC-cut from aluminium and given an anodised finish.
Key Features
- Front brake fluid reservoir cap for the Ducati Multistrada 1260 S D-Air, 2018 to 2020
- Made for the original front reservoir, per Accossato
- CNC-machined aluminium with anodised finish
- Seven colours: black, silver, gold, red, orange, blue, green
- FP007 clutch cover available for the same bike
- Keep the original cap for a return to standard
- No German ABE on file; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
The TS003 is milled from aluminium and anodised, and the anodising is what carries its colour: black, silver, gold, red, orange, blue or green. Since the cap is made to suit the factory front reservoir of each listed motorcycle, fitting it to the Multistrada 1260 S D-Air changes only the cap, which also makes the change fully reversible. Before the new cap goes on, check the diaphragm or seal underneath and renew it if it is cracked or has hardened.
A Complete History for the Next Owner
Buyers of a premium touring bike look at documents first and details second. Keep every invoice, and note the date of each brake fluid renewal in the service book, since the owner's manual sets an interval for it and a careful buyer will check. A new reservoir cap belongs in that record too: note when it was fitted and keep the original cap, wrapped and labelled, with the bike's papers. Some buyers want a bike as close to standard as possible, others like tasteful changes, and with the original in the folder the choice stays open. The fitting itself should leave no trace. Turn the bars until the reservoir of the Multistrada 1260 S D-Air sits level, protect tank and fairing with a towel and keep a bowl of water nearby, because brake fluid marks paint and any drop must be rinsed off straight away. Open the reservoir briefly, check that the fluid lies between the marks, fit the TS003 and tighten it gently. Squeeze the lever several times before riding. A dry, clean reservoir with a neat cap tells a buyer the same thing as the folder: this bike has been looked after.
Fitment and Compatibility
The Multistrada 1260 S D-Air from 2018 to 2020 is on Accossato's list for the TS003, which takes the place of the original cap on the front brake reservoir. We also carry the same part for the Multistrada 1200 S, the Monster 1200 and the Hypermotard 821. Accossato's FP007 clutch master cylinder cover is listed for the D-Air as well. Before ordering, compare the reservoir on your bike with the application list.
Road Approval
We hold no ABE or test mark for the TS003, and so we list it for use in racing and competition.
