DescriptionThe whole story▼
The Streetfighter V4 shares its V4 engine with the Panigale V4, but the rider sits upright behind a handlebar instead of crouching over clip-ons. A superbike's braking power is therefore worked from a naked bike's riding position, and that raises an old question in a new setting: how many fingers belong on the brake lever? The Accossato EDF099 answers with three blade lengths. It is a CNC-machined lever for the Streetfighter V4 from 2020 to 2026, fitted to the original master cylinder, with an adjustable distance to the grip.
Key Features
- Brake lever for the Streetfighter V4, 2020 to 2026, including the SP2
- Mounts on the original master cylinder
- Short blade for two-finger braking, standard (about 138 mm) and long blades for more fingers
- Reach adjustable
- Black hub, blade in one of seven colours
- CNC-machined and anodised aluminium
- Fixed blade, no folding joint
- No German ABE documented: sold for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Whichever length you choose, the EDF099 is the same lever in principle: CNC-machined from solid aluminium, anodised, with a black hub and a coloured blade and no folding joint anywhere. Only the blade changes. That means the reach adjuster in the hub works identically on all three versions, so on the Streetfighter V4 you pick the blade to suit your braking technique and then set the reach to suit your hand.
Two Fingers or Four
Four-finger braking uses the whole hand, spreads the force and gives a strong, stable pull, but it takes the hand off the throttle completely. Two-finger braking leaves the ring and little finger on the grip, which keeps the throttle under control and makes the change from braking to acceleration smoother. With brakes as strong as those on the Streetfighter V4, two fingers are usually enough even for a hard stop. The short blade, offered in five colours, is made for that style: it ends before the fingers that stay on the grip, so they are never squeezed between blade and throttle. If you prefer four fingers, the standard blade in any colour or the long blade gives the room. There is no single right answer; the lever should follow the technique you already use.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato lists the EDF099 for the Streetfighter V4 from 2020 to 2026, including the SP2 version it names for 2022 to 2024. The lever replaces the original part on the stock master cylinder. As the listing spans seven model years, compare the product photos with your own lever if your bike is one of the more recent ones. Accossato has no clutch lever on its list for the Streetfighter V4.
Road Approval
Sold for the circuit: this EDF099 has no documented German ABE.
