DescriptionThe whole story

Upright, unfaired and quick: the Kawasaki Z1100 loads its front end in a way a fairing would soften. On this machine the reference is the T004, 71.5 mm of friction face in the Tokico caliper. EXR is new for 2026 and succeeds EXC Endurance rather than sitting beside it in the T004.

Key Features

  • Durability equal to or better than EXC Endurance, which itself lasted around twice as long as EX Race
  • ZCOO specifies this reference for the Kawasaki Z1100 directly, not by cross-reference from a similar machine
  • No ECE R90 type approval is documented for this compound - treat the T004 as a track and competition part
  • New backing plate alloy, specified with the compound instead of carried over from the EXC Endurance mixture EXR replaces
  • Predictable in the wet, because the compound does not need temperature to start working on a Z1100
  • Pad code ZRM-T004C, 71.5 mm long and 50.0 mm tall - a direct fit in the standard caliper

Construction and Material Quality

Manufacture is Japanese and unchanged across the range, the T004 included. On a 71.5 by 50.0 mm face the backing plate decides whether the pad wears evenly or takes on a taper. For the rider of a Z1100 the whole of that engineering shows up as one thing: a lever that means the same on the last stop as on the first.

Performance and Feel

ZCOO quotes a figure for EXR that most pad makers avoid quoting at all. EXR keeps the strength and changes the way it arrives, so the force builds with the lever instead of ahead of it. With no fairing to lean into, the Z1100 rider needs the T004 to be predictable above all.

Fitment and Compatibility

ZCOO catalogues the T004 for the Z1100 of 2026. The same T004 shape covers 18 further machines in the 2026 catalogue. Front axle only. Before ordering, check that your caliper takes a pad of 71.5 mm length and 50.0 mm height.

Road Approval

No ECE R90 type approval is documented for this pad. It appears neither in ZCOO's own catalogue nor on the European distributor's site, and no approval number is printed on the packaging data available to us. ZCOO itself describes the compound as suited to competition machines and road machines alike, but that is a description of the mixture, not a type approval. Until the distributor confirms an approval in writing, treat this as a track and competition part: in Germany a replacement brake pad without ECE R90 approval may not be fitted to a motorcycle used on public roads. Ask us before ordering if you need this clarified for your machine.
