DescriptionThe whole story

Riding an MONSTER 797 hard means using the front brake harder than the riding position suggests. The MONSTER 797 takes the B007: a 8.0 mm stack of ceramic-sintered material across 85.0 by 51.0 mm. In EXR form the B007 carries ZCOO's 2026 compound, the mixture that replaces EXC Endurance.

Key Features

  • Backed by the ZCOO 2026 catalogue listing for the Ducati MONSTER 797, 2017 to 2021
  • The B007 is one of 16 shapes ZCOO builds; this is the one your Brembo caliper takes
  • Predictable in the wet, because the compound does not need temperature to start working on a MONSTER 797
  • Wear stays even across the 85.0 mm of friction face rather than concentrating at the leading edge
  • Pad code ZRM-B007C, 85.0 mm long and 51.0 mm tall - a direct fit in the standard caliper
  • Part number Z-B007-EXR, EAN 4950545771780

Construction and Material Quality

What sits behind the friction material on a B007 matters as much as the mixture itself. Expansion gaps between the friction blocks let the B007 material grow into the gaps when hot instead of building stress against itself. For the rider of an MONSTER 797 the whole of that engineering shows up as one thing: a lever that means the same on the last stop as on the first.

Performance and Feel

The second phase of braking is where a compound either holds or gives up, and that is what ZCOO changed. The B007 in EXR keeps EXC's authority and loses its abruptness. On an unfaired machine like the Ducati MONSTER 797 that is a control argument, not a comfort one.

Fitment and Compatibility

The 2026 listing puts the B007 on the Ducati MONSTER 797 for the 2017 to 2021 model years. The same B007 shape covers 111 further machines in the 2026 catalogue. Nothing in the ZCOO range fits the rear axle of the MONSTER 797. Before ordering, check that your caliper takes a pad of 85.0 mm length and 51.0 mm height.

Road Approval

No ECE R90 type approval is documented for this pad. It appears neither in ZCOO's own catalogue nor on the European distributor's site, and no approval number is printed on the packaging data available to us. ZCOO itself describes the compound as suited to competition machines and road machines alike, but that is a description of the mixture, not a type approval. Until the distributor confirms an approval in writing, treat this as a track and competition part: in Germany a replacement brake pad without ECE R90 approval may not be fitted to a motorcycle used on public roads. Ask us before ordering if you need this clarified for your machine.
