The welding is not decoration — hand-welding is how Spark gets the manifold lengths it wants without the compromises a pressed and machine-welded joint would force.

On a parallel twin the length of each header matters more than on a four, because there are only two pipes to work with. Spark sized them to optimise performance, and left the seams visible because on a naked motorcycle the collector is on show.

More Than Half the Weight

7,2 kg standard, 3,1 fitted. On a motorcycle that weighs around 184 kg wet, four kilos out of the exhaust is a proportion you do not usually get from a single component — and the MT-07 is a bike whose whole character is built on being light.

The Grid-O Silencer

Full titanium, with the perforated mesh outlet cap that gives the design its name. It is the same silencer family Spark took to Moto2, scaled to a 689 cc twin, and it arrives with the dB killer already in the box rather than as an extra to order.

That last point separates this system from Spark's newer R7 kits, where the dB killer is an optional insert.

Racing Use Only

Spark's installation note is in capitals: not recommended for road use, for racing use only. There is no homologation certificate and no catalytic converter. Fit it to a machine used on circuits.

Which Motorcycles

Spark's article page lists the MT-07 from 2014 to 2020 and from 2021 to 2026, plus the Tracer 700 from 2016 to 2020. Spark's own photography for this code also shows the XSR700, and the 2026 price list groups the number with the XSR 700 — so we list it here.

The price list additionally groups this number under the YZF R7. Spark's article page does not mention the R7, and Spark builds two dedicated R7 systems (GYA8895T and GYA8896T), so we have left the R7 off this article. If you have an R7 and want this system specifically, ask us and we will check it with Spark first.

Fitment & Compatibility

Yamaha MT-07 (2014-2026), XSR700 and Tracer 700 (2016-2020). For the YZF R7, Spark's dedicated systems are GYA8895T with a Konix Evo silencer and GYA8896T with a Force Evo.

Road Approval

None.
