DescriptionThe whole story▼
Machined from chrome-molybdenum steel and engineered for the demands of both road and track, the Sitta D001 front sprocket is a precision drivetrain component built to last. Designed as a direct-fit replacement for the Ducati Panigale 959 (2016-2019), it delivers optimised power transfer, reduced chain wear and the flexibility to tailor your gearing to your exact riding style.
Key Features
- Chrome-molybdenum steel construction for exceptional strength, wear resistance and longevity under high drivetrain loads
- Precision-machined teeth profiles ensure exact chain engagement, eliminating play and promoting smooth, consistent power delivery
- Available in 14, 15, 16 and 17-tooth configurations to dial in acceleration or top speed to suit your riding demands
- Compatible with both 520 and 525 pitch chains, giving you the freedom to run a lightweight 520 conversion or retain the standard 525 setup
- Direct OEM-spec fitment to the Ducati Panigale 959 — no modification, no shimming, no guesswork
- Equally suited to track day use and spirited road riding, from short-circuit sprint gearing to longer motorway-capable ratios
Material and Build Quality
Where lesser sprockets rely on standard carbon steel, the Sitta D001 uses chrome-molybdenum alloy — the same class of material favoured in motorsport applications for its superior tensile strength and resistance to fatigue. This translates directly into a sprocket that maintains its tooth geometry over extended service intervals, puts less stress on your chain and keeps drivetrain efficiency high throughout its working life. The precision machining tolerances mean the D001 seats flush and true on the Panigale 959 output shaft first time, every time.
Choosing the Right Tooth Count
The tooth count you select has a direct influence on how your Ducati Panigale 959 performs on the road or circuit. A smaller front sprocket shortens the overall gearing ratio, sharpening throttle response and improving acceleration out of slow corners — the preferred choice for tight, technical circuits or aggressive street riding. A larger sprocket lengthens the ratio, reducing engine revs at cruising speed and raising the potential top speed, which suits fast open circuits or extended touring stints.
- 14 or 15 teeth — shorter gearing, stronger acceleration, faster engine response
- 16 or 17 teeth — longer gearing, higher top speed, lower cruising revs
Fitment and Compatibility
The Sitta D001 is engineered specifically for the following application:
- Ducati Panigale 959 — model years 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019
- Chain pitch: 520 and 525
Always verify your chain pitch before ordering. If you are running a 520 conversion kit, select the 520 variant; if your Panigale 959 retains its standard drivetrain, choose the 525 option.
