DescriptionThe whole story▼
Shaft 14/210, Öhlins part number 03062-17. Shaft straightness matters: a bent shaft drags in the seal head and destroys the seal within hours.
Key Features
- Length 210 mm
- Öhlins part number 03062-17
- Diameter 14 mm
- Original Öhlins service part
Function
The published figures are 14 mm, 210 mm. Measure the old part against them before ordering. A shaft is measured by diameter and overall length, and both are specific to the unit it belongs to. Its polished section runs directly in the seal, so any mark there ends the seal's life quickly. Corrosion on a stored damper usually starts on the exposed shaft.
Why the Original
Parts remain available years after a unit leaves the current price list, which is unusual in this trade. Öhlins lists this part under its own number in the service catalogue so a workshop can order exactly what it needs. Order by part number — descriptions repeat across sizes, numbers do not. The Öhlins exploded view names the number for each position; we can look it up if you do not have it.
Getting the Number Right
Öhlins identifies this position by the number 03062-17 in the exploded view for the unit it belongs to. The published dimensions are diameter 14 mm, length 210 mm — measure the old part against them if you are unsure. Öhlins offers several lengths per diameter because stroke differs by model. A shaft is threaded at both ends: one for the piston, one for the mounting.
Fitting and Setup Service
A damper rebuild is workshop work: it needs the unit dismantled, the shim stack rebuilt in the correct order and the gas charge reset. We are an authorised Öhlins service centre and do exactly that in house — send us the unit or ask us to fit the part with your order.
