Size chart MT Helmets Genesis R SV
| Size | Head circumference (cm) | Head circumference (inch) |
|---|---|---|
| XS | 53–54 cm | 20.9–21.3 in |
| S | 55–56 cm | 21.7–22.0 in |
| M | 57–58 cm | 22.4–22.8 in |
| L | 59–60 cm | 23.2–23.6 in |
| XL | 61–62 cm | 24.0–24.4 in |
| XXL | 63–64 cm | 24.8–25.2 in |

How to measure your helmet size correctly: Measure your head circumference with a flexible tape around the widest part of the head, about 1–2 cm above the eyebrows. Measure 2–3 times and compare with the chart. Between sizes, usually choose the larger size.
Important note on fit
The right helmet should fit firmly without uncomfortable pressure points. A new helmet may feel a little tighter at first, as the inner lining adapts slightly over time.

White and silver-grey with magenta chevrons stepping across the flank and a deep navy band along the lower shell. Vibe C8 is the brightest Genesis MT builds, and the feature that decides whether you keep wearing it is the one behind the brow.
The integrated sun visor
A tinted shade drops down from inside the shell, operated by a slider that falls under your left hand.
This is the feature that separates a helmet you wear all year from one you wear in good weather. A tinted screen is optically better and darker — an internal shade sits a centimetre from your eye and has to stay light enough to survive a tunnel — but it is only better on the days you remembered to bring it. The way a tinted visor actually fails is not that it is inadequate; it is that you are still behind it at nine in the evening because swapping meant stopping.
On a modular there is a second argument. When the light changes you can lift the chin bar to see properly, and a shade means you rarely need to.
About the Vibe C8 finish
Gloss throughout. The crown and the upper flank are white, shading gradually into a light silver-grey; three magenta chevrons step diagonally across the side, and a broad navy band wraps the lower shell and the chin bar. GENESIS is lettered in magenta near the visor mechanism.
The design across the Vibe range is one drawing in different clothes: the same chevrons, the same proportions, different grounds and accents. On this one the light ground makes the magenta the loudest element, where on the black version the identical chevrons read as an accent. Worth knowing if you are choosing between them — the pattern is not the variable, the ground is.
ECE 22.06 · no DOT
Mandatory across Europe since January 2024. Against the 22.05: 18 impact points instead of five, several impact speeds, an oblique strike against an abrasive anvil measuring rotational loading, and a Brain Injury Criterion limit. No DOT marking is published for the Genesis R SV.
P or J: not published
Under 22.06 a modular is marked P, J or both on the strap label, depending on whether it is approved to be ridden closed, open, or either. MT does not publish which applies here.
Ride it closed. The chin bar is designed to be lifted at a standstill.
The 935 screen
A wide-field screen prepared for Pinlock DKS279 or DKS002.
Field of view is worth more on a modular than the number suggests. A flip-up's eye port sits slightly further from your eye than a full-face's, because the mechanism needs room, and a screen cut generously is what stops that turning into a letterbox effect on a shoulder check.
No Pinlock insert is supplied. Buy one if you ride outside summer — it is the only thing that beats fogging at a standstill, because ventilation needs airflow and a traffic queue has none.
Living with a light helmet
A white gloss shell shows road film, insects and fuel splashes more than any other colour, and on a modular there is a second surface collecting them: the chin bar you handle every time you open it.
Two rules make it manageable. Never wipe a dry shell — grit dragged across gloss leaves swirls, and on white with a dark graphic they show first. And soak insects off under a damp cloth for a minute rather than scrubbing.
The weight MT does not give
No gram figure is published for the Genesis R SV. We could estimate from MT's comparable modular, but an estimate printed as a specification is a number people quote back, so ours stays flagged as an estimate and off this page.
Being seen on a modular
A flip-up has a design advantage in traffic that rarely gets mentioned: the chin bar is a large, near-vertical surface facing forward, and it is the part of a helmet a driver at a junction actually looks at. A colour placed there works harder than the same colour on the crown.
On this one the navy band wraps the chin bar and the magenta chevrons sit on the flank, so the helmet reads as a two-tone object from the front and as a striped one from the side. None of it is fluorescent, and none of it does anything after dark — reflective material on the jacket does the night-time work.
Getting the size right
Measure the head at its widest, about 1–2 cm above the eyebrows. Between two sizes, take the smaller: comfort padding compresses two or three millimetres in the first hours and then stops, so a helmet slightly firm on the cheeks when new ends up correct.
On a modular there is one extra check. With the chin bar closed and the strap fastened, open and close the bar a few times and make sure it does not lift the helmet off your cheeks each time. If it does, the shell is a size too large — the mechanism is taking the helmet with it because nothing is holding it down.
Retention and interior
A micrometric ratchet holds the strap, and the lining lifts out completely for washing, with recesses for the speakers of an intercom.
On a light helmet the lining shows wear at the brow band long before the paint shows anything. Washing it a few times a season is what keeps the helmet looking its age rather than older.
