DescriptionThe whole story▼
On the Street Triple 765 R, the JP ACCGP TR039 shortens the ride-by-wire throttle's travel to 60 degrees. The R's sharper suspension and chassis setup, compared with the base S, are matched here by a throttle that needs less wrist rotation to go from closed to fully open, with the triple's mapping unchanged.
Key Features
- Triumph Street Triple 765 R (2017–2026)
- GP Series ride-by-wire quick throttle with a sixty degree rotation angle
- Progressive return spring, preload adjustable externally in three positions
- CNC-machined from solid Ergal 7075
- Plug-and-play on the motorcycle's own connector
- Standard throttle assembly refits at any time
Sharper Than the S, Not as Sharp as the RS
The R sits between the S and RS in the Street Triple range, with firmer suspension than the entry trim but without quite the full track focus of the RS. A shorter throttle throw suits that middle ground, adding directness without demanding the commitment of a fully race-oriented setup.
Resistance That Grows With the Throttle
A progressive return spring sits behind the shortened rotation, offering light resistance near idle and more as the throttle opens further. That progression keeps small adjustments easy while still giving a definite sense of return when the throttle is rolled off from wide open.
On a Trackday
Taken onto a circuit, the R's riders tend to use the throttle more decisively on corner exits than they would on the road, and a shorter throw rewards that decisiveness with less wasted rotation between trailing the brake and getting back on the gas.
The 765 Triple's Reach
Triumph's 765 triple has a wide spread of usable revs, and how quickly a rider can access the upper half of that range depends partly on how far the throttle needs to turn. Less rotation brings that reach closer to hand.
Resetting the ECU's Reference
After fitting, a throttle position relearn through the bike's diagnostic system is the standard step, aligning the ECU with the new unit's travel rather than the original grip's. It is a brief procedure, not a remap. The fuelling tables underneath the throttle position remain exactly as Triumph calibrated them.
An Original Kept Intact
The factory throttle body is set aside rather than altered during the swap, meaning it remains available if an owner later wants to revert to the standard setup. Nothing about the fitting forecloses that option. Dealers handling a trade-in often prefer keeping that door open for the next owner.
