DescriptionThe whole story▼
Riders who keep their Suzuki GSX-8S on the road from January to December need a rear brake that copes with cold, wet and dirty conditions. AGPP88 in the Sintered (ST) mixture is Accossato's rear pad for the GSX-8S from 2023 to 2026. It suits year-round commuters and riders who carry a passenger, and who want the pedal to feel the same whether the road is dry or soaked.
Key Features
- Rear pads for the Suzuki GSX-8S, 2023 to 2026
- Sintered compound, SKU AGPP88ST
- Steady, high grip at low and high temperatures, per Accossato
- Reliable in the rain
- For year-round commuting and passengers
- Front pad: AGPA38
- Organic alternative on the same plate
- No ABE on file; for track use
Construction and Material Quality
Accossato designs its Sintered compound to hold a high grip level that barely changes with temperature and to grip well on wet roads. That suits a rear brake that has to work in winter cold and summer heat alike. Accossato also claims slow wear.
Winter Commuting with the Rear Brake
On cold, wet roads in winter, many riders use the rear brake a little more than usual, because a gentle rear application is less likely to unsettle the bike than a hard squeeze on the front. On the GSX-8S, a sintered rear pad gives a steady response in those conditions. Salt and grime collect around the rear caliper, which sits low and catches spray from the rear tyre, so rinse it with clean water after gritted roads and check the piston for corrosion during pad changes.
With a passenger, a light rear application before the front helps settle the bike. Before spring, check pad thickness and have the fluid replaced if it is old, since moisture absorbed over the winter makes the pedal feel soft. Many year-round riders simply fit a fresh rear set every autumn, so the pads start the dark months with full thickness and the rear caliper gets a thorough clean at the same time.
Fitment and Compatibility
AGPP88 is listed by Accossato for the rear of the GSX-8S 800 from 2023 to 2026, with AGPA38 at the front. The same rear plate is also offered in the Organic compound for mainly urban use.
Road Approval
We hold no ABE or German approval for AGPP88ST. It is sold for racing and track riding.
Scope of Delivery
