DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Accossato PK029 radial brake master cylinder pairs a 19 mm piston, suited to dual-disc front brakes, with a fixed 20 mm lever pivot distance, the shortest-stroke, most immediate setting in the integrated-reservoir brake range. Accossato does not recommend this pivot for everyday street use and positions it instead for track and competition riding. The fixed lever, available in seven colours with a relieving eyelet, and the colour-matched integrated reservoir complete the unit.

Key Features

  • 19 mm piston diameter, suitable for dual-disc braking systems
  • Fixed 20 mm lever pivot distance, the shortest-stroke setting, not recommended for street use
  • Fixed lever, long version, with relieving eyelet (RST), seven colours available
  • Integrated fluid reservoir with a colour-matched cover, adjusting knob and oil level marker
  • Forged aluminium body with a CNC-worked cover and lever
  • Offset riser that reduces bending of the master cylinder while braking
  • Stainless steel mounting screws and a zinc-plated bleed valve
  • Seals manufactured from Formula 1 compound material

Construction and Material Quality

The forged aluminium body and CNC-worked cover and lever used here match every other integrated-reservoir brake master cylinder Accossato builds, with stainless steel screws, a zinc-plated bleed valve and Formula 1 compound seals making up the hardware. The offset riser limits flex in the unit under hard braking, and the internal passages are shaped to shorten the passive lever stroke, already reduced by more than half against a conventional radial master cylinder, even further through the 20 mm pivot geometry fitted here.

What the 20 mm Pivot Trades Away

Lengthening the pivot distance to 20 mm shortens the lever stroke needed to reach full braking power, which is why Accossato describes this as the prompter version within the 19 mm family, but the same amount of hand pressure then has to work against a longer lever arm, so more physical force is needed to achieve the same braking power as the 18 mm version. That is also why the 20 mm setting is not recommended for everyday street use: on the road, a lighter, more forgiving lever action is usually preferred over the sharpest possible bite. On track, where a rider is already committing to a hard stop, the extra leverage and shorter stroke can be an advantage, which is the use case Accossato designs this fixed-pivot version around.

Fitment and Compatibility

This master cylinder is listed against 65 motorcycles in our fitment data, spanning Aprilia, BMW, Ducati, Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki ranges, including the BMW M1000RR (2021-2023), Ducati STREETFIGHTER V4 (2020-2023), Honda GL1800 GOLD WING (2018-2023) and Suzuki GSX-S1000GT (2022-2023).
