Search for a performance air filter for a GSX-R750 and somebody will offer you horsepower. It is worth saying plainly that a drop-in element does not deliver it: the ducts in the nose, the airbox volume, the throttle bodies and the intake tracts behind them were sized as one system, and the filter panel is the only piece of it the factory expects to be taken out. Swapping it does not redraw the rest. What the Sprint Filter P08 PM122S offers is smaller and truer — a restriction that stays close to where it started across a whole interval, on a part that is cleaned rather than bought again.
Key Features
- 80 µm of filtration with a flow of 5,050 l/m²/sec — the medium Sprint Filter builds for road and track
- Dry woven polyester, never oiled, so nothing can be carried downstream onto the sensors
- Around double the filtering surface of other performance elements
- Fits the standard airbox in the paper panel's place: no modification and no remap
- Serviced with an air line and used again, rather than replaced at every interval
- A two-year warranty from the date of purchase
One element, two engines
Suzuki built this generation of the 600 and the 750 around a shared chassis and airbox, and Sprint Filter lists a single element for both. Of the two, the 750 is the larger draw — more displacement breathing through the same box, and an engine that lives at the busy end of the rev range rather than visiting it. That does not make the element a power part. It does mean the restriction in front of it is paid more often and in larger instalments — which is why it is worth knowing where that restriction stands rather than assuming it.
What steady restriction is actually worth
A paper panel starts an interval clean and ends it loaded, and the interval is a compromise: long enough to be practical, short enough that the worst day on it is still tolerable. The P08 begins with roughly twice the cloth, so the same dust covers a smaller share of it, and a few minutes with compressed air puts the element back where it began. Nothing dramatic happens on the day you clean it. What changes is how much of the year is spent at the wrong end of an interval — and on a track day, whether the third session breathes like the first. The medium is woven from polyester thread of ø 22 microns and upwards; Sprint Filter measured 93.13 per cent retention of 100-micron particles for the dry P08, against 76.42 per cent for four-layer oiled cotton.
Care and cleaning
Normal service is compressed air through the PM122S from the clean side outwards, as often as the riding asks. Where that leaves something behind, wash it in lukewarm water with a mild detergent and rinse until the water runs clear. Dry it completely in open air — never with heat, never with a flame — and refit it with nothing applied. The Sprint Filter maintenance sheet is in the Downloads tab.
Fitment & Compatibility
Made for the standard airbox of the Suzuki GSX-R750 built from 2011 to 2026. Two machines take this element: this one and the GSX-R600 of the same years. Both appear in the Fitment tab.
