DescriptionThe whole story▼

The Leatt Moto 4.5 Lite Glove adds something the lighter 2.5 gloves do not have: impact protection. Slim, 3D-moulded ReaFlex gel covers the knuckles and the third and fourth fingers, and the glove is CE-certified to EN 13594:2015, yet it keeps a ventilated mesh upper and an ultra-thin NanoGrip palm.

In Speed Khaki Brown it also has one of the most distinctive looks in the range: an olive khaki glove with an orange and black chequered graphic at the cuff.

Key Features

  • Slim 3D-moulded ReaFlex impact gel on knuckles and third and fourth fingers
  • CE-certified to Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and EN 13594:2015
  • Ultra-thin, durable NanoGrip palm for wet and dry grip
  • Mesh upper and stretch mesh finger sides for ventilation
  • Pre-curved, seamless palm with concealed reinforcement
  • FormFit finger stitching and multi-row Coats® stretch thread
  • Hook-and-loop closure, touchscreen compatible

Protection and certification

ReaFlex is the gel material Leatt uses for the impact zones. On this glove it is moulded in 3D and kept slim, protecting the knuckles and the third and fourth fingers without restricting how the hand moves. The glove is certified as personal protective equipment under Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and tested to EN 13594:2015, the European standard for motorcycle gloves.

Palm and feel

The palm is made of NanoGrip, which Leatt describes as ultra-thin and durable, with grip in wet and dry conditions. It is flexible and breathable, pre-curved and seamless, and its reinforcement is concealed inside rather than stitched on top.

Ventilation

On the back, an open mesh lets air through, and the FormFit finger sides are made from stretch mesh too. This makes the 4.5 Lite a protected glove that still suits warm motocross and enduro days.

Fit and closure

The cut is snug and pre-curved. FormFit stitching along the fingers improves grip and feel, and an adjustable hook-and-loop strap closes the wrist.

Details

Multi-row Coats® stretch-thread seams are there for durability, the fingertips are touchscreen compatible, and Leatt ships the glove in plastic-free packaging. The material composition is 90% polyester and 10% elastane.

What you should know

The 4.5 Lite is CE-certified to EN 13594:2015, but no performance level (1 or 2) is stated, and its protection is a slim gel rather than hard knuckle armour. The mesh upper is not waterproof and offers no insulation, so this is a glove for mild to hot conditions. The size range runs from S to XXL.

Colour

Speed Khaki Brown is an olive khaki tone across the back and fingers, with the gel pads in a slightly darker shade. An orange and black chequered graphic and a Leatt logo sit near the cuff and over the top of the hand, and the palm is grey. The muted base hides dust well, while the orange accents keep it sporty. It is part of the new V27 collection.
