DescriptionThe whole story

Developed and proven in the world's most demanding racing series — including the British Superbike Championship and the Isle of Man TT — the K-Tech DDS Pro rear shock for the Kawasaki ZX-4RR delivers the kind of precise, fully adjustable damping that separates podium finishes from also-rans. This is a genuine race-specification suspension upgrade, engineered for riders who demand absolute chassis control on both circuit and road.

Key Features

  • Five-way adjustability gives you a complete toolkit for dialling in your chassis to any track layout or riding style
  • 32-click compression adjustment and 32-click rebound adjustment for a wide, finely graded damping range
  • 16-click ByPass Valve (BPV) tuning specifically targets low-shaft-speed damping forces — the detail that defines corner-entry confidence
  • Hydraulic preload adjustment lets you alter spring preload without tools, trackside or at the roadside
  • Length adjustment enables precise geometry changes to optimise steering weight and chassis balance
  • CNC-machined components throughout for the dimensional accuracy and durability that race use demands
  • DDS technology with integrated potentiometer mounting points for data-logging compatibility
  • Wide spring-rate selection across the 55-155 series to match rider weight and circuit demands

Race-Proven DDS Technology

K-Tech's Damper Design System (DDS) is the architecture behind some of the most successful suspension units in British and international racing. The DDS Pro takes that platform further, pairing the core DDS damping circuit with the ByPass Valve — a secondary low-speed circuit that lets you tune initial stroke sensitivity independently of the main compression stack. The result is a shock that can be soft enough to find traction on a bumpy infield section yet firm enough to resist dive under hard braking on the same lap.

The addition of potentiometer mounting points means the DDS Pro integrates cleanly with modern data-acquisition systems, allowing engineers and self-coaching riders alike to correlate chassis data with lap-time improvements.

Build Quality

Every major component is CNC-machined to race tolerances. The 35 mm RCU body and 12 mm shaft are sized for the ZX-4RR's packaging constraints while maintaining the structural rigidity needed under repeated high-load inputs. Both upper and lower mounts use an eye configuration — upper eye 30 mm wide with a 10 mm bolt, lower eye 39 mm wide with a 10 mm bolt — ensuring a direct, rattle-free fit to the factory chassis points.

Fitment and Compatibility

This shock is purpose-built for the Kawasaki ZX-4RR, covering model years 2023, 2024, 2025, and 2026. It is a direct replacement for the factory rear shock with no frame modifications required. Professional installation by an authorised K-Tech Service Centre is strongly recommended; specialist tooling and suspension expertise are required to realise the unit's full performance potential safely.
