Öhlins and a Quickshifter
The S brings fully adjustable Öhlins at both ends and the bidirectional shifter as standard. On a motorcycle built for roads rather than circuits, that combination is the whole argument for the specification.
Restyled for 2021
Ducati gave the SuperSport the Panigale V4's face, integrated winglets and a new tail. It is the same motorcycle underneath and it looks considerably more expensive than it is.
A Hundred and Ten Horsepower
From the 937 cc Testastretta, with torque arriving early enough that the bike never feels like it needs revving. It is tuned for the road and unapologetic about it.
Just the Housing
This replaces the throttle assembly and leaves the switch block alone. It is the appropriate purchase when the electrics are sound and only the plastic is bothering the owner.
Where It Is Felt
The bore is machined, which keeps the throttle tube turning cleanly for years. On long rides at partial throttle, a housing that has developed play becomes tiring in a way that is hard to describe and easy to notice.
One Finish
Black anodised, converted into the surface. Against gold suspension and red bodywork, it is the component that steps back rather than adding a third voice.
Cut From Solid
Ergal 7075 at roughly twice the yield strength of ordinary machined alloy. It is harder to cut and it holds a clamping face on a handlebar indefinitely.
The Best of Both
The 950 S gives up very little to a superbike on a real road and almost nothing at all in comfort. Riders who have owned both frequently describe it as the one they should have bought first.
