The 2017 Revision
Aprilia reworked the engine and fairing for 2017, reaching 201 hp and adding cornering ABS from a six-axis platform. The RR gained most of what the RF had while keeping Sachs suspension and its lower price.
Sachs, Not Öhlins
The suspension is the honest difference between the two variants. On a road the RR gives up very little, and the money saved covers rather a lot of tyres and track days.
Cornering ABS
The inertial platform lets the ABS know how far the bike is leaned and modulate accordingly. It came from Bosch and Aprilia integrated it with APRC so the two systems stopped working against each other.
Staggered Holes
This pattern matches the original master cylinder. Owners who have fitted a radial unit need the universal version instead, and the two look similar enough on a screen that it is worth confirming.
Four Finishes
Black, blue, red and titanium. Aprilia's RR liveries were mostly black and red, which makes two of the four options a continuation rather than a contrast.
A Sealed Body
Machined Ergal with the elements enclosed. Ingress is what ends switchgear; the clipped cover on a moulded assembly is the way in and this design does not have one.
Plug and Play
Pre-wired to the motorcycle's own connector. There is no adapter loom in the box because none is needed, and nothing appears on the dash afterwards.
Six Axes, Reading Everything
The inertial platform added in 2017 measures pitch, roll and yaw and feeds all three into ABS and traction control. It is the piece that turned a set of separate rider aids into something that behaves like one system.
