DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES 028 replaces the PAIR reed valve housing on the GSR750's cylinder head with a machined aluminium blank.
Key Features
- Suzuki GSR750 (2011–2016)
- Blanks the PAIR ports in the cylinder head
- Machined from solid aluminium
- Sealed with an O-ring, no gasket cement
- Uses the original fastener positions
- Fully reversible to standard
The Reed Valve Housing
Suzuki bolts a plastic box to the head containing one reed per cylinder. It admits air whenever pressure in the port drops, which is the entire mechanism.
Why It Fails
Reeds crack and warp after enough heat cycles. A failed one lets exhaust gas back up the hose towards the airbox, where it coats everything it reaches.
An Aluminium Blank
One piece, machined from solid, sealing on an O-ring in a turned groove. There is nothing inside it to age and nothing to inspect at a service.
The Same Fasteners
Suzuki's own bolt positions and Suzuki's own torque figures. Nothing is drilled and no thread is cut into the head.
What Leaves With It
The housing, the reeds, the hoses to the airbox and the clips that hold them. The top of the engine ends up visibly less cluttered.
The GSR600 Before It
Suzuki built a 600 version first and it never quite convinced anyone. The 750 fixed the criticism by finding torque where the smaller bike had none.
A Commuter That Could Not Look Like One
Angular tank shrouds and a stacked tail were meant to disguise a practical motorcycle. It worked well enough that a great many were bought for the wrong reasons and kept for the right ones.
Not the Whole Job
Blanking the head does not silence the ECU, which is still watching the solenoid circuit. The electrical eliminator handles that half.
Type Approval
Removing emissions equipment ends road legality in most of Europe. This is a competition part and it should stay on a competition motorcycle.
Reversible
Four fasteners and the original housing goes back. Keep the reed box in a box and the bike returns to standard in an evening.
