Ducati gave the 959 a bigger bore, a Euro 4 exhaust and a slightly softer edge than the 899 it replaced — and left the ignition barrel exactly where it had always been, bolted to the top yoke. For anyone running the bike in anger, that barrel is the first thing to go. JP KS DU005 is the part that replaces it.

Built to Survive the Wash Bay
IP69K is not a marketing number. It is the class written for equipment that gets cleaned with 80 °C water at 100 bar from 15 cm away — the food-processing standard, and a good deal harsher than anything a paddock pressure washer will do to a 959. That rating is the reason this button can live exposed on the yoke through a full season of wet sessions and still feel crisp.

Road Approval
None. This part removes the factory ignition lock and moves the immobiliser interface into a separate housing, which puts the motorcycle outside its road type approval. Closed-circuit and competition use only.
In the Box
The kit arrives as a finished assembly: the machined Ergal switch body with the IP69K button already fitted, the Key Box housing, and the short harness that mates to the 959's factory ignition connector. There is no separate hardware pack to lose and no wiring diagram to interpret, because there is no wiring to do — the plug that came off the barrel goes onto the switch.
