DescriptionThe whole story▼
Aprilia's naked 457 does without a fairing, and with it goes any chance of hiding the hardware on the top yoke. The factory ignition barrel is the one item up there that was drawn for a supermarket car park. The JP KS AP660 takes it off the bike entirely and puts a sealed, machined button where it used to sit.
Key Features
- Cut for the Aprilia Tuono 457, 2024 through 2026
- The lock cylinder, its bracket and the key all leave the motorcycle
- Mass at the fork crown drops by something in the order of 350 g
- Anodised in black, blue, red or titanium
- Ergal billet body, IP69K button
- Key Box in the kit keeps the factory immobiliser circuit alive
What Anodising Buys You on a Bike With No Bodywork
Paint sits on top of aluminium and leaves an edge to chip. Anodising converts the outer layer of the metal itself, so there is no film to lift when a glove, a tank bag strap or a knee catches the switch. On a Tuono, where the yoke is in the rider's eyeline and in every photograph of the bike, that difference shows up over a couple of seasons rather than staying theoretical.
Ergonomics Rather Than Lap Times
Nobody buys a Tuono 457 to chase a tenth. The honest case for this switch on a naked middleweight is what it does to the cockpit: one fewer object between the clocks and the bars, a button your thumb reaches without moving your hand off the grip, and no cylinder to jam after a winter of road salt. The weight is a side effect, not the headline.
Ordering the Right Finish
Four part numbers, one switch. JP KS AP660 is black, JP KS AP660 B blue, JP KS AP660 R red and JP KS AP660 T titanium. The suffix is the only thing that changes; every variant is the same machined body with the same button and the same Key Box in the box.
Fitment and Compatibility
- Aprilia Tuono 457 (2024–2026)
Road Approval
None. A motorcycle without its type-approved ignition lock is not road legal, and this part is sold on that basis: closed circuits and competition only.
