DescriptionThe whole story▼
The enduro left-hand block for the Tuareg 660, arranged for a rider who spends real time off the tarmac.
Key Features
- Aprilia Tuareg 660 (2021–2026)
- Enduro layout for off-road use
- Black anodised Ergal 7075
- CNC-machined from solid
- Military-specification sealed elements
- Plug-and-play on the original connector
Drawn for a Standing Rider
When the weight comes off the seat the bars sit low relative to the hands and the wrists roll forward. Every control position that made sense sitting down is suddenly in the wrong place, and this layout is the answer to that.
Not the Race Arrangement
JetPrime also lists a race-layout block for this motorcycle. The two solve different problems, and a rider who mostly stays on tarmac would be better served by the other one.
Ergal 7075 and Rock
The aerospace alloy reaches roughly twice the yield strength of ordinary machined aluminium. On a bike guaranteed to be laid down eventually, the material is chosen for the fall rather than for the photograph.
Grit Never Leaves
Water dries out of a joint. Fine sand does not; it works past a clipped cover, settles against a terminal and stays there for the remaining life of the part, which is why the elements here are enclosed entirely.
Aprilia Meant It
A twenty-one inch front wheel, long travel at both ends and a chassis drawn around a rider on the pegs. This is not a road bike with a beak, and the way it is specified makes that clear throughout.
Rear ABS, Off
The Tuareg lets the rider disable it completely and choose an off-road traction setting. Those are the two things that make gravel possible, and they get switched at the start and end of every section.
Black Anodised
Converted into the metal rather than laid over it. A scratched anodised surface dulls at the contact point; a coated one lifts and then keeps lifting from the edge.
No Cut Wires
Pre-wired to Aprilia's own plug. A hundred kilometres from anywhere, an installation with no splices in it is the one that is still working when the temperature drops.
Two Hundred and Four Kilograms Wet
With a nineteen litre tank filled, which for this much suspension travel is genuinely light. It is the figure that decides whether a rider lifts the motorcycle alone at the end of a trail, and everything else about the Tuareg follows from Aprilia having taken it seriously.
