DescriptionThe whole story▼

Titanium Rods and Higher Compression
The RR's engine specification is closer to a race unit than to the standard F4's, and it delivers accordingly: peaky, urgent and unforgiving of imprecise inputs. Shortening the throttle travel suits that character rather than fighting it.
Ohlins and a Quick Throttle
An RR fitted with a shortened throttle is almost always a bike being prepared for circuit use, where the electronic damping and the brakes have already been set up. The throttle is usually among the last mechanical changes on that list.
The Switch Needs a Home
The standard cluster is part of the throttle assembly. Removing the tube removes the starter and kill controls with it, and on a bike entering a paddock those are checked before anything else.
Set by the Rider
An independent bar clamp lets the switch be positioned for a rider tucked in behind the screen, which is a different geometry from the one MV assumed for road use.
Nothing Spliced
Pre-wired for the original connector. The electronic suspension and the rider aids continue to function exactly as delivered, and the standard assembly refits without trace.
Sealed for Track Use
Military-specification elements inside a machined body. Race and track machines meet water through washing rather than weather, and they meet it hot and after every session.
One Anodised Finish
Titanium, converted into the surface. Against the RR's gold fork tops it sits closer than any other option without attempting to match them, which is generally the more successful approach.
Where It Goes On
Usually at the same time as the rearsets and the race bodywork, once the bike has been committed to track use. Doing the throttle and the switch together means the cockpit is stripped once rather than twice.
