DescriptionThe whole story▼

For owners who race or regularly lap a circuit with a Moto Guzzi MGX-21, Accossato offers front pad AGPA96 in its ZXC ceramic racing compound. It is one of two dedicated competition options for this plate and appeals to riders who prefer the character of a ceramic pad and want to tune their braking across a weekend. Accossato lists this pad for the MGX-21 1400 Flying Fortress from 2015 to 2017.

Key Features

  • ZXC ceramic racing front pads for the MGX-21
  • Flying Fortress fitment, 2015 to 2017
  • Accossato calls it a ceramic compound ideal for racing
  • Designed for sustained circuit use
  • Suits riders who tune brakes between sessions
  • Two pads for one caliper
  • Competition use; no German ABE on file

Construction and Material Quality

ZXC is a ceramic racing compound, which Accossato describes as ideal for competition. It is intended for bikes that spend their time on a circuit and see high brake temperatures session after session. Accossato, based today in Villastellone near Turin, offers it as a ceramic alternative to its EV2 racing pad. As with its other pads, the company highlights low wear, limited heat build-up and resistance to fade.

Setting Up the Front End

At the circuit, the MGX-21's front brake can be refined through lever position, bedding and fluid. Between sessions, check how the lever felt at each marker and how evenly the pads are wearing. A ceramic racing pad rewards riders who pay attention to these details.

Road riders will be better served by the OR or ST versions of this plate, and EV1 is a sensible crossover choice for road and occasional track riding.

Fitment and Compatibility

The ZXC version of AGPA96 is catalogued by Accossato for the MGX-21 1400 Flying Fortress from 2015 to 2017. The MGX-21 has two front calipers, so a full front change needs two boxes. The rear is covered by Accossato AGPA92, listed from 2015 to 2021. Before fitting, clean the caliper pistons, check the discs and bed the pads in properly. If the MGX-21 has been converted for track work with non-standard calipers, this listing no longer applies.

Road Approval

We have not been given approval documents or a German ABE for this pad, so it is intended for track and competition use.

Scope of Delivery

Two AGPA96 ZXC ceramic racing pads, packed as a set for one front caliper.
