DescriptionThe whole story▼

For the Yamaha XV950 RACER of 2017 and 2018, listed by Accossato as the XV 950 BOLT RACER, the rear pad AGPP121 is also available in the Sintered compound, SKU AGPP121ST. It is designed for riders who take their café racer out in all weathers, commute through wet months or occasionally carry a small bag, and who want a rear pedal that feels the same on a cold, wet morning as on a warm, dry afternoon.

Key Features

  • Sintered (ST) rear pad, SKU AGPP121ST
  • Yamaha XV950 RACER (Bolt Racer), 2017 to 2018
  • Accossato: high, stable grip at any temperature
  • Accossato: good grip in the wet
  • For year-round riding
  • One set for the rear caliper
  • Front pad AGPA71 listed

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato says the Sintered compound keeps a high and consistent level of grip at high and low temperatures and grips well in the wet. On the rear of an XV950 RACER ridden year-round, that makes the pedal predictable. Accossato also notes slow wear and less fade; we mention it once.

Riding Through the Wet Months

Commuting on a café racer through autumn and spring means wet roads, cold mornings and sometimes a gritty surface. On the XV950 RACER, many riders use the rear brake first in the wet to settle the bike before the front. A Sintered rear pad keeps that first touch consistent. It suits riders who do not put their bike away when the weather turns, and it copes well with the salted roads of early spring, provided the caliper is rinsed afterwards. For dry-weather town use, the OR rear pad is quieter.

Fitment and Compatibility

Model years 2017 and 2018 of the Yamaha XV950 RACER, catalogued by Accossato as XV 950 BOLT RACER, take this sintered AGPP121 at the back. One caliper sits on the rear disc, so a single box is needed. At the front of the XV950 RACER, Accossato fits AGPA71. Winter riding brings grit and moisture into the rear caliper, so take a look at the slider pins and piston seals whenever you change pads, and replace the fluid in the rear reservoir if it has turned dark. Once the new pads are in, ride a stretch of quiet road with light, repeated applications to bed them.

Road Approval

We have no ABE or approval certificate for this pad, so it is offered for competition use.

Scope of Delivery
