DescriptionThe whole story▼

Supermotos are not only summer toys. Plenty of SWM SM 500 R owners ride through autumn drizzle, over mountain passes with a bag strapped to the seat and on chilly spring mornings. For those riders Accossato makes front pad AGPA112 in its Sintered mixture, listed for the 2018 to 2020 SM 500 R. This compound is built for consistency: the same feel at the lever whether the road is wet, dry, cold or hot.

Key Features

  • Front pad AGPA112 for SWM SM 500 R, model years 2018 to 2020
  • Sintered mixture, article number AGPA112ST
  • Accossato: high, constant grip at high and low temperatures
  • Strong wet-weather grip
  • Steady lever feel from first stop to last
  • Suited to year-round riding and loaded touring
  • Also available as OR, EV1, EV2 and ZXC

Construction and Material Quality

Accossato describes the Sintered compound as one that holds a high and even level of grip across a wide temperature band and keeps working well when the disc is wet. On a single-disc supermoto like the SWM this is valuable, because the whole front stopping load goes through one caliper. The maker also cites low wear, reduced fade thanks to limited heating, and a strong stopping effect for its pads.

Wet Roads and Mountain Passes

A wet disc is the moment many pads hesitate. The first squeeze has to clear the water before the pad bites, and some compounds need a noticeable pause. Sintered pads are known for dealing with that well, so the SM 500 R slows the way you expect even after a puddle or a spray from a lorry.

On a long descent the opposite problem appears: heat. A rider heading down an Alpine pass with luggage or a passenger works the front brake again and again. A compound that keeps its grip as the disc warms helps the lever stay where you left it, hairpin after hairpin.

Fitment and Compatibility

AGPA112 is Accossato's front pad for the SWM SM 500 R from 2018 to 2020. The rear caliper of the same bike takes AGPP80. Check the thickness of the old pads and the condition of the disc before fitting, top up or replace the fluid if it looks dark, and bed the new pads in with a series of moderate stops.

Road Approval

No ABE or German test document exists for this pad in our files. It is therefore intended for use on closed circuits and in competition.

Scope of Delivery

One box containing two Sintered front pads, enough for one caliper.
