DescriptionThe whole story▼
Every cross-country racer knows the hill that stops the whole field. On the first lap one rider stalls halfway up, the next few pile in behind, and within a minute the slope is blocked with bikes going nowhere. Getting a KTM 300 XC through that kind of traffic is almost entirely a matter of clutch control. For the left side of the 300 XC from 2006 to 2022, Accossato offers the C7283, a long four-finger blade that can hinge forward when a neighbour's bike ends up on yours.

Construction and Material Quality
In Accossato's off-road pair the brake lever is short, for three fingers, and the clutch lever long, for four; the C7283 is the long one. It is machined from solid stock, not cast, using Ergal 7075, a high-strength aluminium alloy, and the CNC work happens in Italy with strength, low weight and reliability as the aims. A dark base stays on the pivot at the clutch mount, and a blade in black, blue, orange or red is attached to it by a joint that allows it to fold.
A Queue on the Hill
When a hill jams, the first rule is not to make it worse. Stop short of the tangle if you can, pick a line that avoids the stuck bikes and wait for a gap. Then the 300 XC's low-down pull does the work, fed through the clutch: first or second gear, modest revs, the lever eased out just enough to find drive without spinning the rear tyre into the holes dug by everyone else. If the tyre starts to dig, pull the clutch for a moment, let the bike settle and try again.
Traffic on a hill also means contact. A rider rolls back into you, a bike is dropped across your line, and in the scramble your own machine goes down on its left side against the slope. The clutch lever takes the hit, and a broken one on a steep hill means pushing, not riding. With the C7283 the blade can fold forward on its joint instead of snapping, which may leave you with a working clutch to restart the KTM 300 XC and climb away. It will not survive every incident, but it improves your chances when half the field is piled up around you.
Fitment and Compatibility
Accossato names the KTM 300 XC for this lever in its 2006–2013 form and again for 2014 to 2022; in both cases it goes on the original clutch mount. The B8283 folding brake lever covers 2014 to 2022, so for an older 300 XC the clutch side is the only one covered by this range. Both levers share black, blue and orange; the clutch lever also comes in red.
Road Approval
The C7283 has no documented German ABE and is supplied for off-road riding and competition only.
