Its 80 microns describe the gaps between threads; the 22-micron figure describes the thread itself, and the two are routinely confused. In the manufacturer's comparison the medium retains 93.13 per cent of 100-micron particles where four-layer oiled cotton reaches 76.42. The rest of the range trades away from 5,050 l\/m²\/sec in a straight line — P037 at 37 microns, P14 at 14, T12 at 7 — each holding more back and passing less. Finer is not better, only different. And none of them adds power: a drop-in element leaves this engine exactly as strong as it was.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003ch2\u003eCare and cleaning\u003c\/h2\u003e\u003cp\u003eBlow PM91S through from the clean face outwards so the dirt leaves by the side it entered, then refit it dry. Where a long season has left more than air will move, lukewarm water and a mild detergent take care of it; rinse until the water runs clear and let it dry in open air.
