Öhlins machines its pistons so the port edges stay sharp and the flow predictable.

Key Features

Original Öhlins service part

Öhlins part number 15062-02

Where It Sits

There is no measurement to check here — the number and the exploded view identify it. Replacing a piston is a workshop job because the shim stack has to be rebuilt in the correct order. Valves and needles set the adjustable part of the damping; the piston sets the rest. The seat face has to be flat enough for the first shim to seal against it.

Original Öhlins Part

Buying the individual part rather than a complete assembly is what makes servicing an Öhlins unit worthwhile. Öhlins manufactures service parts on the same lines as production parts — there is no second quality. Tell us the damper's model designation and year and we will match the number for you. We can supply the whole position from the drawing rather than the single piece if that is easier.

Identifying the Right Part

The reliable route is the exploded drawing: find the position, read the number, order it — 15062-02 in this case. This position has no published dimension, so the part number is the only reliable identifier. Replacing a piston is a workshop job because the shim stack has to be rebuilt in the correct order. Port area and shim seat geometry decide the damping curve before any adjuster is touched.

Fitting and Setup Service

Öhlins recommends that its units are serviced by an authorised centre. We are one: rebuild, revalve and setup all happen in our own workshop.

Specifications

Brand: Öhlins

Part Number: 15062-02

Category: Pistons

Country of Origin: Sweden

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0949/7831/0410/files/15062-02_0616ea10-1255-4042-9a45-1294518555ab.png?v=1788875988
