DescriptionThe whole story▼
The JP ES 007 plugs into the Panigale 1299 S where Ducati's secondary air valve did, presenting the winding resistance the controller measures before it decides anything is wrong.
Key Features
- Ducati Panigale 1299 S (2015–2018)
- Takes the secondary air solenoid out of the circuit
- No warning on the instrument panel
- Plugs into Ducati's own connector
- Nothing cut, nothing spliced
- Standard valve refits at any time
Two Hundred and Five Horsepower
Unchanged from the standard bike. Ducati puts the S premium into the chassis rather than the engine, which is where it does the most good.
Where the Crackle Comes From
Residue igniting in a hot header on a trailing throttle. It is not the fuelling and it is not the silencer, and no map has ever cured it.
Reversible
The standard valve refits on its own connector whenever it needs to, with nothing consumed by the conversion in either direction.
Track Bikes Have No Question
On a motorcycle that will not see a public road again there is no approval to lose and no inspection to pass.
An Honest Description
This is an emissions delete. It changes the legal standing of the motorcycle where the system is mandated and nothing about how the engine makes power.
A Decision Worth Recording
Whoever works on this motorcycle in five years will assume the system is intact. A line in the service book is worth an hour of somebody's confusion.
Two Minutes Once You Are There
The whole exchange is unplug, plug, secure. Everything else is access, which is why combining it with other work pays for itself.
Fitting It Properly
The connector goes in where the solenoid's did, and the body is then secured so it cannot swing against the frame or a cable. That is genuinely the whole installation. What fills the evening is the tank and, on most Ducatis, the airbox coming out first, which is why owners generally fit the cylinder head cover in the same session rather than repeating the access later.
The Connector's Locking Tab
Ducati's plugs latch and the latch does not always release where a gloved thumb expects it to. Levering at the wrong point breaks the tab, and a connector with a broken tab has to be replaced rather than persuaded. Looking at the plug before pulling on it is the whole of the technique.
The Largest Twin Ducati Sold
Almost thirteen hundred cubic centimetres in two cylinders means an enormous amount of heat arriving at two cylinder heads, and the secondary air hardware bolted to them lives in that. Owners of these machines meet the fault earlier than owners of the smaller twins, and the reason is entirely thermal.
