DescriptionThe whole story▼
The three-cylinder F3 is the MV that riders actually take to track days, and the 675 has spent a decade being cheap enough to modify and good enough to be worth it. Deleting the ignition barrel is one of the first jobs on that list. JP KS MV002 covers the 675 and the Ago 800 through 2012 to 2020.
Key Features
- Replaces the F3 ignition block: no key, no barrel, no lock
- Approximately 350 g removed from the top of the chassis
- Machined from solid Ergal, anodised
- IP69K push button — sealed for pressure washing between sessions
- Key Box included, keeping the F3's coded key connected to the antenna
- Reversible: the standard lock can go back on without a trace
Weight Where It Counts
A 675 F3 is a light motorcycle already, which makes 350 g a larger proportion than it would be on a litre bike — and it comes off the steering head, the worst place on a chassis to carry mass. The number is not a headline figure so much as a description of what the standard barrel, lock body and bracket actually weigh once they are in your hand.
Fitment and Compatibility
- MV Agusta F3 675 (2012–2020)
- MV Agusta F3 675 ORO (2012–2020)
- MV Agusta F3 675 RC (2012–2020)
- MV Agusta F3 Ago 800 (2012–2020)
Road Approval
None. The JP KS MV002 is a competition part. It removes a component covered by the motorcycle's type approval and is sold for closed-circuit use only.
Living With It
The F3's ignition sits in a tight space between the clocks and the top yoke, which is part of why the standard barrel feels so intrusive on this bike. The JetPrime switch occupies the same footprint but stands far less proud, so the view over the clocks opens up. The button has a positive, short travel — deliberate enough that a gloved thumb finds it without looking, firm enough that it will not be triggered by a knee on the way past.
