DescriptionThe whole story▼
Two kilograms off a 213 kg naked bike, from the highest point on the tail. The GSX-S750's standard silencer weighs 4.61 kg — a substantial piece of steel on a motorcycle Suzuki built to a price — and a carbon replacement takes 44 per cent of it away.
Key Features
- 2.58 kg against the standard 4.61 kg: 2.0 kg and 44 per cent less
- Carbon fibre muffler outer sleeve
- 1.0 PS and 1.3 Nm more, both at 7,400 rpm
- EC and ECE type approved
- No removable noise insert is supplied
- Installation is quoted at 45 minutes
Forty-Five Minutes, and Why
Longer than most slip-ons in this catalogue. The GSX-S750's silencer sits under a tail unit with the pillion grab rail above it and the rear brake reservoir alongside, so the bodywork has to come apart before the mounting is reachable. It is a workshop-bench job rather than a driveway one — plan the time or have it fitted.
An Under-Appreciated Middleweight
The GSX-S750 uses a detuned GSX-R750 engine in a steel frame, and it has always been the sensible choice in a class full of louder options. 107 PS, no electronics to speak of, and a price that undercut everything around it.
That last point is also why the exhaust is heavy. Suzuki spent the money on the engine, not on the silencer — which is precisely what makes a 2 kg saving available here for less than it would cost on a more expensive machine.
What the Numbers Say
1.0 PS and 1.3 Nm, both at 7,400 rpm. Small, honest, and in the middle of where an inline four of this size is ridden on the road. The reason to fit this part is the weight and the carbon, not the dyno sheet, and the figures are printed here rather than dressed up.
One Thing to Know
No removable noise insert is supplied. The sound level is what the silencer produces as built — type approved at that level, but there is no quieter setting available.
Why the Fitment Stops at 2020
Suzuki discontinued the GSX-S750 in Europe after 2020 rather than making it Euro 5 compliant, replacing it in the range with the GSX-8S in 2023. This part covers the years the bike was sold and does not carry over to anything that came after — the 8S is a different engine in a different frame with a different exhaust path.
That also means the GSX-S750 is now a used motorcycle, and one that has held its value less well than its quality deserves. A carbon silencer on a good example costs a fraction of what the same part would represent on a current bike.
What Stays Standard
The header, the catalytic converter and the engine management are untouched, and no remapping is needed. The original silencer refits if the motorcycle is sold in original condition.
Fitment and Compatibility
S-S7SO2-HRC covers the Suzuki GSX-S750 from model year 2017 through 2020.
Road Approval
EC type approval and ECE type approval, with the certificates supplied and downloadable here. The silencer is a legal replacement part for road use in the European Union.
